People eventually notice my sense of humor. But, as much as I love making people laugh, making them smile is just as rewarding. I tend to always smile at everyone. It might be the only smile someone gets all day. I am a successful college teacher was fortunate enough to win a couple of championships as a high school coach, but the most important thing isn't my subject matter or sports, it’s the relationships one builds with others. I truly enjoy other people. I especially treasure the stories of people older than I, the laughter of little children, and even the challenges of teenagers. I'm sure being around them so much keeps me young.
I love being a part of something bigger than me. I am a natural leader, but also a team player. I love the excitement of a new relationship and the fun stuff, but I can also do the hard work and have the perseverance to be there for the long term.
I'm sure that I am not alone in wanting to find a partner who loves easily, deeply, and passionately, is able to smile through past pain, and is sure that the remainder of our lives will bring many great moments to treasure. She will be kind, like to kiss (I just might be good at that), love being in love, and have a natural spark to her personality.
I am very loyal and it is a natural part of me never to give up. I am looking for that special woman who will captivate me completely--someone who will be my best friend and lover now and into our nineties.
In my life I have learned the importance of adapting to change, whether I want change to happen or not, whether I am ready for it or not. I have learned that my attitude is the one thing I can control. The most important thing isn't what life brings, but what I decide to do next.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
I am not much of a meet and greet person--maybe because I usually have to drive quite awhile for that meeting. I am also not fond of first date-lunch date. They feel too much like a business meeting, especially when you are surrounded by business people doing exactly that. I feel like two people should do whatever it takes to know enough about each other that you are pretty sure you can stand to spend at least a couple of hours together. Even if the chemistry isn't there, I like people well enough that I can enjoy some kind of fun activity together. And a first date can be as safe as you need it to be. Bring along a chaperone, even your cousin and his baseball bat, or your whole family if you want. You can see right away that I can fit in with almost any group.
