So here I am trying to condense myself into this tiny box which hasn't been easy since I am usually trying to think outside of them.
I am an old soul: A unique individual who is not concerned with following societal trends or fads, doesn’t mind being different and is happy with who I am; adventurous, up for trying new things, exploring new ideas and learning. I Also enjoy being hands on and creative in all aspects of life. This describes me and the person I am looking for in a nut shell but since you may need a little more...
I am an old fashioned guy looking for a real connection. I enjoy the outdoors (camping, fishing, hiking, biking) and the simpler things in life. It doesn't matter what I am doing as long as the company is good. Not a big sports fan of follower of pop culture, I do crossword puzzles, I like to buy random books to read from used book stores and other places (which helps me discover many different authors), and I love getting lost because you never now what you will find, some of my best discoveries have come about from getting off the beaten path. I also like to have a good time and just relax, telling jokes and stories, and having a discussion on almost any topic such as the time I explored an abandoned Psychiatric facility or the time I drove hundreds of miles in a snow storm or... (you will have to contact me to hear more).
History is a passion of mine and I believe that the more we know about our past the better equipped we are for the future. I am a collector and dealer of antiques and collectibles, my own small business. I also work as a Museum director, where I also teach. I truly enjoy history in all forms so these jobs give me plenty of opportunities to explore and learn. There are so many great things in the world that have and still are influencing our lives today and working in this field allows me to connect with the past as I do my small part to help preserve it. In my own business what I do is kind of like American Pickers (and if I had more space American Restoration) but for me it is not all about the money it's about the items, their history, individual stories and unique qualities. I love going out to find items that I know nothing about and then researching them and pondering how they were used and how they impacted people’s lives over the years. I have a good eye when it comes to seeing beyond the obvious to what really makes items truly special which has lead me to some great discoveries.
I Apply this same eye to the people I meet I don’t judge them on there outer appearance because like an iceberg 90% of what makes up a person is below the surface! A person personalty and character are what's MOST important to me.
As for my match, they would appreciate the simple things in life and appreciate a person for who they are not materialistically what they have or don't have. They are a person I can connect with on an intellectual level, who can carry on a good conversation of varied topics and is open minded. I get along with most of the people I meet, but when I comes to a relationship I am looking for that person I click with, who understands and supports me as I support them, some one who realizes that there is more to me than my bad pictures (I am better behind the camera than in front of it, I am also a photographer) and what is written here. This little box is just the tip of the iceberg so if you like what you see here and want to know more I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
