Fun,active and involved. I'm recently retired from a rewarding and enjoyable corporate career. I was very involved with the community and volunteering. I've been single for many years while raising my daughters, but I'm now essentially an empty nester and trying to figure out what to do with the next chapters of my life...loving and simpler, though not sure what that really means yet.
I love music and been in bands for many years and enjoy my bike which is built for two-whether an afternoon ride or across the continent. I love to sail and have an old but fun and comfy lady in Pt. Dover-great days on the water-which I love-anything on or near it. Love the cottage in the Bruce. Recently took up golf more avidly and really enjoying that. And would like to travel south a lot more now.
Dog lover and hard to imagine a home without one. I am fascinated by all of nature and curious about the world's and universe's phenomena, environment and our place in it. No gourmet, but love to cook when there's someone to cook for and with.
I really enjoy live entertainment-bands, theatre, parades, occasional camping, outdoor stuff with our dog, love animals and love to ski. Sensual pleasures are important too..smell and touch particularly.
I'm really hoping to meet an energetic, generally fit (but not obsessed) good looking woman who is open minded; an enquiring woman, curious about the world with a sense of humour who has earned her independence but wants to (and can) really share-emotionally, socially, intellectually. Want to meet someone who I can add value to her life and add value to mine, Family and friends are high on the list and also one who needs her own space and respects her partner's needs similarly. A sense of humour is a must..we need to be able to laugh at ourselves...we are after all, a very silly species!
I haven't been a recluse, though dated little, but enjoyed great and fun experiences and hopefully grown with family, friends, travel ,events, holidays, community and the like. My daughters are grown now and it's time for me to have more on the personal side... I can now be independent and it's time for me to spend some fun and deep time with an adult partner on a long term basis!
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Might be the Saturday morning coffee and market. Like to browse the farmers' markets occasionally...or dinner and theatre...or a bike ride. Really depends on the person and circumstances...whatever we did we would both have to be comfortable. I believe in personal chemistry and intuition and think we would know fairly quickly whether there's a chance for more.
