I have a relatively independent life style but I am ready for friendships and laughter. Although I have never married, I was in a committed relationship for 25 years and have been "on my own" for a few years now. My humor can range from silly to dry. I pretty much say what I think (although never in a hurtful or unkind way).Friends and family - people - are important to me. In fact, I like my life. I have a great job, friends and family that I love. I enjoy spending time with people, but I need my "me" time, too. Everyone thinks I look (and act) younger than I am.
I would love to meet someone with a great (and broad) sense of humor, who can laugh at himself and isn't afraid to show a silly side. Although shared interests are important, I think people should have individual interests, as well. Mutual interests would be admiring the beauty of nature, road trips, trying new ethnic restaurants. I have not had the opportunity in the past to do much travel and would love to meet someone who could either show me new places and experiences they have had, or be a partner to experience this for the first time. I am usually up for just about anything and my tastes are pretty eclectic. Someone to share performing arts (plays, musicals, concerts, opera, symphony)... I just love to enjoy new experiences. Arrogant and shallow people are not my thing, so please be kind and thoughtful, love people and be open. I am left of center politically and if you support the Tea Party folks, we probably aren't a match.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Typically, a first date should be about getting to know the other person, so someplace relatively quiet where we can talk. Weather permitting, maybe a picnic for two in a local park.
