I was born and raised in Michigan and finally back (as of Feb 2014) after being gone for nearly 13 years. I have a degree in Digital Media Design but as it turns out, it's more just an expensive hobby. I do freelance from time to time. I love to paint, draw and make things.
Up until recently I worked full time as a Veterinary Technician. I did that for over 13 years and loved it. Now I work the 8-5 Mon-Fri. And randomly take on painting/crafting gigs.
I stay fairly busy. I don't need someone else in my life. I'm happy and quite content being single. That being said, I would like to share my happiness with someone who is equally happy with their own life. Someone who isn't looking to jump into a relationship because they are lonely or depressed. Someone who knows what it is to live a busy life. Affection is great. What's not great is clingy, mad jealousy, or control freaks. Not guys who will avoid hanging out with the guys to be with me. I'm definitely gonna go hang with my friends with or without you. I know that sounds harsh, but I seem to attract men who can't or chose not to be their own person. I need my independence, so do you.
You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you... a relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals... look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.
I love being outdoors, hiking, walking, playing. I get dirty, I don't do my nails, I don't own hairspray. I can camp for days and can survive with a lake or bottled water hippie bath. Although I may enjoy a longer than usual shower once I get home.
Art has a very huge part of my life, art of all kinds. Art is the most amazing form of self expression. It speaks volumes when you can't.
Whether it be on a canvas, a computer, napkin, gum wrapper, a box car or a scrap piece of wood, I soak it in. I'm just inspired by it all. Draw it, paint it, color it, write it, build it, mold it, carve it, glue it, weld it, tape it, point and click it, teach it, grow it, bake it, sing it, dance it, play it. Whatever you do, self expression is what I am drawn to.
I have two daughters. I really like it when people roll their eyes and ignore me, so I became a mother.
I am not a bar rat, I don't do the clubbing thing either. I can hardly call myself a 'social' drinker. Even socially I'm almost always the sober one.
I like going to the gym but not a gym rat either.
I am a morning person. I love mornings and would like to find someone else who is too.
I also love nights in with Netflix and my blanket. There might be enough of that blanket to share.
If you have SWAG, move along. If your pants are hanging under your ass, move next to the swaggers. Some girls dig it. I never will.
That goes for flat bill hats too... seriously. And take that stupid sticker off.
If you have a stack of cash in your profile pictures, please don't message me. Or more pictures of your vehicles than of you. It's tacky and I feel like that means you really have nothing to offer in the way of a personality.
July 13th, 2015 was the last time I had a cigarette.
I love learning about outer space.
I love animals, better than most people. Dogs are more loyal than most humans will ever be.
Pets: Turtles. I have 6 of them.
Family and friends are very important to me. I make friends that become family.
Not looking to have any more kids, if you have kids that's fine, but I can't have anymore.
I want to be around someone who makes the best of bad situations. Who can find the beauty in the darkness. I cannot and will not involve myself with negative thinking, it's toxic, contagious and I refuse to go down that road again.
If my body is a temple, why not paint the walls and do some remodeling?
I am VERY open-minded, but I don't have to do all the things I don't have problems with to agree with them.
I want my own garden where I can grow fruit & veggies & herbs & spices. Isn't Michigan great?!
I love rain and thunderstorms.
I will have a motorcycle and/or a Jeep someday.
I am looking into getting a motor home.
I'm a lot smarter than you think I am.
Autumn is my favorite season.
I love to watch hockey. (Red Wings fan)
I love taking pictures... Yeah, I'm THAT girl...
I sometimes swear too much.
People tell me I snore... I probably do.
The aurora borealis is the most beautiful thing you will ever see. (Northern Lights)
Music: I am an 80s kid by my parent's doing, grunge kid by era and the 70s is a choice. Folk music is my easy like Sunday morning. Grunge, Electronic, World & Tribal Fusion, Bellydance, Ethnotronica, Blues, Jazz, Rock (Classic, Alternative), Metal, jam bands, Reggae, and most of the 80's hair bands (don't judge). My Pandora ranges from the 60s up to today. Really digging Tedeschi Trucks Band and many other soul blues bands. Not big on most new pop and pop country and can't stomach most rap today. And I can proudly say I am over the DUB step.
I have a fear of sharks but strangely fascinated by them and really want to go scuba diving someday.
I'll never cheat on a significant other nor will I ever be an accomplice to adultery...
I am 420 friendly. I am 100% for medical use marijuana. I have seen the good it has done for many people close to me. We put worse things into our bodies daily. GMO garbage, Prozac, Lithium, Heroin, not to mention the hundreds of drugs and chemicals pushed into adults & even children undergoing aggressive treatments. Educate yourself.
And lets be real, a pothead only poses a threat to the snack food population.
Now back to more useless information:
My perfect Sunday:
Outdoors! Hiking or walking nature trails, playing disc golf, rock hunting on the beach, picnic in the yard, painting outside.
Some movies I've watched more times than I can count:
Boondock Saints, Fight Club, The Big Lebowski, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Braveheart, Bill & Ted, Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin, Finding Nemo and Rock of Ages.
Obscure knowledge I possess:
I used to read encyclopedias as a kid so a lot of what I know is obscure. I probably know more about Ancient Egypt and outerspace than any average person should. The History channel is a favorite of mine. Plus, I read and collect Snapple caps. :P
I have a weakness for guys who have these qualities:
Intellectually stimulating, artsy, positive vibes, independence, facial hair, active, funny and spontaneous.
There are five things that you cannot recover in life:
(1) The Stone...after it's thrown
(2) The Word...after it's said
(3) The Occasion...after it's missed
(4) The Time...after it's gone
(5) A person...after they die
