I'm 48, very active and physically fit. I enjoy laughing and a sucker for a little romance now and then. Or, at least a romantic nod toward the appreciation of life and embracing those we love while we can.
I try not taking myself too seriously. Although, maybe I should??? Other's may accuse me of being too serious. But not often.
I enjoy ROCKING OUT to audiopheliac hi-fi/vinyl records, with an emphasis on sound quality.
Plenty of time spent rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing, hiking and most other means of roaming the hills.
Photography, lots of photography. Usually the same shots I've taken so many times already. Never the less. I just keep shooting. It brings me such JOY!
Sushi! I LOVE SUSHI!!! So much so, I did do it proffessional for a while. Primarily as a way to support my sushi habit. Now I stll make it, but not often as it's a big production to do it right.
Good beer! Right up there with sushi. If your gonna hang with me, drinking GOOD beer is good start. I do have a pretty wide pallet as long as it's not A fruity beer. Sorry, I'm clueless about wine.
Cooking. I cook a lot and tend to just wing it based on ingredients on hand. Being my own worst critic, I'll admit, I do come up with some unique deleacasies. I can still burn toast with the best of them... Much like my photography, I'm self taught, so I don't always do "traditional" styles.
Dancing!! I love to make a fool of myself dancing all night. I just let it all hang out. Dancing till I'm drenched in sweat is one of my favorite and primary means of cardiovascular fitness. : ) Good for my agility, too. I won a dancing award a couple years ago whilst on a date from this site... First place in the "Funky Dance Contest"... Just say'n, I got FUNK!
I also really enjoy a long, challenging steep trail run.
I like bike rides, but I'm not a "bike guy".
I LOVE playing w my kids and just hanging out and having fun being a DAD!!! Above all, I am a devoted father.
I'm pretty much a work hard/play hard guy who is ready to meet someone who is fun, beautiful and shares the same ideals. Shared goals are a bonus. Double bonus if I find the soulmate I can lean on and unite the knots in my heart. : )
After spending the past three years taveling all year and rebounding from my divorce, most of my free time is spent at home. I putz around the yard, explore locally, eat well and live life to the fullest. I've truly found paradise and eventually want to find someone to share it with. I go and get whatever I want in life, despite what any of the haters and naysayers say. I'm currently self employed but I've been a sushi chef, wind turbine tech, managed a world class fishing lodge in Alaska, climbed the highest peak in North America - Denali, climbed 3,000 ft vertical rock walls. Ran a successful real estate business for 5 years. As well as so much more. I speak my mind. I am open and honest, sometimes to a fault.
Things I'm NOT... I don't like to sit around and watch sports. I'd much rather be out doing them. I'm not into games and BS. I am not about money and possessions... (even though I love my house and toys). Things are nice but not as important as relationships and enjoying life to the fullest. I'm neither fat nor bald. I don't do "normal" very well, whatever that even is, anyway. ; ) No back hair to speak of either. I'm not looking for a "high maintenance" type. I need someone who is happy with themselves and in tune with what they want in life. Let's have some fun together and see where it leads. Friendships are good, too.
Bottom line. I guess my feable effort of giving a nod to anyone who walks past the back yard is not a good strategy to meet "the one". Therefore, I'm updating my profile and at least pretend to be putting some effort into this "dating" thing. I'm here, let's meet so you can come enjoy the ride with me. It really is paradise here. : )
"I sing from the heart.
I dance like no other.
I live like I dream."
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Anything fun, indoors or out. Drinks are always a good icebreaker. Sushi is good anytime, too. Whatever it is, start out casual to "see if we click", then go from there.
