I enjoy being outdoors, taking long walks, gardening, riding my bike, playing tennis, golfing, swimming, going on picnics, hiking and camping. Getting together with family and friends is important to me. I like to attend different types of events that are going on, such as festivals, "plays", and going to various places to hear different bands and dance.
I am retired as of May, 2017. I taught in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for 30 years. The school I worked at was especially interesting because the student population was/is very diverse. There were/are children from diverse ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds. I felt and still do feel very good and positive about working with children, hoping that I am able to teach them the reading, writing and math skills they'll need to survive in the "real world" as well as helping them to grow/mature emotionally, and as well as encouraging them to have positive self-images, to work hard and persevere when things don't go smoothly, and to be respectful of, and helpful towards, others. I always want my students to enjoy learning and their time at school,, so that they are motivated to finish high school and continue on to attend either a college/grade school or vocational/trade school. Now that I'm retired from teaching every day, I plan on volunteering/tutoring on a parttime basis at the school from which I recently retired.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
For the first get-together, I'd like to meet at a place that is conveniently located for both of us, and that we mutually like. We could talk about our interests, jobs, travels, families and ambitions. Discussing what each of us is hoping to find in a relationship is important. Finding out what fun and/or interesting kinds of things the other person enjoys doing, when in a relationship, is also very important.
