I'm the kind of girl that your mother would love. Originally from NC and living in NYC over the last 6 years has made me resilient, determined and resourceful. I'm living my dream--writing for a living in the quintessential city of dreams. Paying more attention to my goals than my love life has left me noticing something's missing. This city hasn't taken away my big country heart. I'd love to have someone's arms to come home to, someone to experiment with recipes on, someone that wonders what I'm up to when his mind wanders.
I'm having a hard time meeting someone that doesn't get intimidated by my goals or ambition. Life does get hectic when you're chasing your dreams, but I can make time for dating. I love making connections with people and if I can find someone that can make me laugh, nervous and smile, then I'm yours.
I'm a mix of a realist and romantic. I don't read between the lines well, so I'd rather you just spell it out.
I adore music. I'm more of a jazz--Billie Holiday, Count Basie, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, soul--Donny Hathaway, Sam Cooke, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, oldies--Isley Brothers, Shalamar, Evelyn "Champagne" King, O'Jays, and random--Adele, Rox, Selah Sue, Bad Rabbits, Prince, Lil' Wayne, Jamie Cullum, Lauryn Hill, Brittany BoscoJay Electronica kind of girl. If you go to karaoke with me, I swear we'd live happily ever after.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
I'd love to have sushi for dinner. I still haven't tried Sushi Samba, but I think the ambiance is kind of fun and sexy. I'd love to then go somewhere like Cleopatra's Needle on the Upper West Side, listen to some jazz, have some drinks and just chat in between sets about everything from each other to music to where we're going next. I love to bowl, even though I'm not that great at it. First dates should focus on fun.
