What can I say, I'm a busy guy...
Between work, music, and baseball in the summer I don't have a lot of spare time... I'd like to have someone to spend what little 'downtime' I have with, but I usually don't meet anyone I can stand to be around for more than 15 minutes at a time - this is usually due to the fact that most people I meet cannot uphold their end of a conversation, or can't put their cell phone down for more than a minute or two at best...
That being said, I will MAKE time for someone special!
About me - music, work, hobbies, interests:
I have been playing guitar for 20+ years, and pick up a new instrument every few years, I also play: Bass, Accordion, Dulcimer, Bagpipes, Upright Bass, and recently bought a Saxophone.
I have been singing all of my life, and in my current band I sing lead, play guitar and write all the songs.
We're like your favorite band, only better - and mixed with chocolate.
My previous musical efforts have taken me around the world as an opening act for indie rock, punk, and rockabilly/psychobilly bands, and I have played on 2 Vans Warped Tours ('98 & '00)
I have a degree in Graphic and Commercial Art, and though I have been busy playing music, I have gotten back around to some form of art by landing a spot at a tattoo shop and have been spending a good deal of time drawing, painting, or tattooing.
Eventually I'd like to own and operate my own shop, but I currently have a chance to work with (and learn from) some great artists, so that is on the back burner, and I've really been enjoying getting back to playing music after a little hiatus.
I'm usually always up for watching a horror movie of some sort - be it campy, crappy, or actually scary - whether I've seen it or not, you can usually count me in!
As far as music goes, I listen to just about anything that has some kind of real merit (and maybe some that doesn't, but usually not much...).
I hate it when people make similar statements and then find their taste are so selective to what they have heard on the radio or from their friends or whatever...
I run the gamut when it comes to music, but tend to be very picky and specific within any given genre.
I like country, but I like OLD country like Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, etc. I like Jazz, but I like Louie Jordan and his Tympani Five, and Louis Prima. I am mostly into 50's and 60's rock and roll like Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Elvis, Chuck Berry, etc. I love Doo-Wop and anything with great vocals and harmonies, like the Beach Boys.
The other huge music influence in my life is 70's punk rock.
When I was a kid I saw Rock and Roll High School and thought The Ramones were the greatest band in the world!
I love them and bands from that era like the Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers, The Misfits, etc.
I would not discount someone simply b/c they are younger or older than I am any more than I would b/c they have a certain color hair, or eyes, or whatever.
These types of things are not what makes someone beautiful or desirable in my eyes...
Anyone interested in hanging out has to have a sense of humor and understand the basic concepts of sarcasm and irony, and not be obsessed with 'acting your age'.
I'm a kid at heart, and I don't act my age, or LOOK my age.
I put effort into trying to stay in shape and be healthy - it's not an obsession, and I'd like to think there is someone out there for me who is capable of doing these things as well...
Also, If I happen to send you a message, RESPOND - in English please!
Take a minute or two and actually write something.
If someone can't even have the decency to reply, that speaks volumes for their character anyway...
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
I'll start off by just saying I'd like to hang out with someone before actually going on an 'official' first date with them - I'd like to know what I'm in for, or maybe just decide whether or not I am actually interested in this person - Let's be honest; there has to be some kind of chemistry between two people, and if it's not there I don't like to waste my time.
I have gone the route of both the formal and informal first dates, and just find something informal so much better, but generally I'd prefer to do anything where we'd have a chance to talk and get to know each other better.
I love being active, and I'm a sucker for mini golf, but I could go for a bite to eat, a drink, or have a laugh @ at some karaoke night too...
I have a couple other places I always keep in mind for a date with someone really special that I think would be a lot of fun, but I haven't met anyone I thought was worth going that extra mile for...
Maybe she's out there...
