About Peter
My Story...

I'm an artist, musician, graphic designer, & production technician. I'm in the process of writing & recording an album, and it would be great to find somebody cool to hang out with around town.

I would love to meet somebody who is open-minded and adventurous and wants to go exploring. I'm also into just hanging out around the house, making a nice dinner, watching a movie or playing a game too.

Music and art are huge parts of my life, so if you play music or paint/design/do photography, we could have a lot of fun being creative too.

I'm not the kind of person to rush into "relationship" status. I like taking things easy and getting to know somebody. Chemistry is key, and when it clicks, you just know it.

Music... man, where do I begin? My tastes range across all genres, but I find myself mostly listening to Blues, British-Rock, Jazz, Funk, Classic Rock, and Psychedelic Rock. I love checking-out live shows, and I've been to many a festival, including Lollapalooza, Coachella, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and Summerfest. Here's an extended list of the artists I love: Led Zeppelin, Ben Harper, Blind Melon, Ray Lamontagne, Van Morrison, Al Green, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Beta Band, Elbow, Andrew Bird, The Kills, The Dead Weather, Chet Baker, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Morcheeba, Morphine, Medeski Martin & Wood, Star Sailor, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Pretty Lights, Alabama 3, Band of Horses, Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, The Allman Brothers, Amy Winehouse, The Beatles, CCR, Beck, Beth Orton, Bill Withers, Billie Holiday, The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins (early years), Dinosaur Jr, Blur, Travis, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Bob Schneider, Bob Seger, anybody named Bob, The Boxer Rebellion, Brian Eno, The Talking Heads, The Beach Boys, Bruce Hornsby, Harry Connick Jr., Jaime Cullum, Ben Folds, Billy Joel, Gabe Dixon, Cake, Calexico, Iron & Wine, The Cars, Cat Power, Cat Stevens, anybody named Cat, The Charlatans, The Chemical Brothers, Chromeo, Counting Crows, Coldplay (early years), Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Helmet, Cream, The Dandy Warhols, David Bowie, David Gray, De La Soul, The Beastie Boys, Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Digable Planets, Death Cab For Cutie, Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction, Thievery Corporation, TV on the Radio, The Doobie Brothers, and so so so much more!!!

Can you tell I love music? It is the single most expressive force in artisty that I know of... combining sound, vision, performance, improv, composition, poetry, math, science, and crowd participation! What other art does that??? OK, well maybe the circus (which also has animals), but can you put the circus on a stereo system in your home, car, or person? I think not! :~)

Top 20 Include: True Romance, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Sin City, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, The Shawshank Redemption, The Usual Suspects, Airplane, Monty Python & The Meaning of Life, Ghostbusters, Anchorman, Christmas Vacation, Big Trouble In Little China, Weird Science, Star Wars, The Matrix, The Incredibles, Love Actually, & Before Sunrise. I also love a good documentary to stimulate the mind!

"On The Road" by Jack Kerouac, "The Beat Reader" edited by Ann Charters, "A Man Without A Country" by Kurt Vonnegut, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran, "The Tao Te Ching" by Laozi, anything by Pablo Neruda, and, of course, the insightful words of the great George Carlin!

Mostly, I love meeting new people and trying new things. Life is too short not to take a spin on the wild rides.

So if you want to meet up sometime, just send me a note with your email and a message about yourself. I'll be honest, having a picture on your profile is a huge bonus. You can tell alot about a person by their smile and the look in their eyes.

Until then, be good to each other and pay it forward ;~)

And, if you like, pick one of the following "ice-breakers" to get a conversation rolling. We'll see where it goes from there...

If you had a billion dollars, what would you do with it?
What's the best dream you've ever had?
What last made you laugh?
What is your favorite word?
What sound do you love?
What is your favorite smell?
Do you believe in true love?
Do you have any nicknames? What are they?
What is your favorite sport to watch?
What is your favorite sport to play?
What are the five most important things in your life?
What phobias do you have?
Do you play any instruments?
What animal would you love to have as a pet?
Pick up the book nearest to you. Open to page 37, paragraph 2. What is the first sentence (and what book is it)?
What is your favorite color?
Describe your perfect vacation.
What are your major goals in life?
What is your dream job?
What inspires you?
If you could meet anyone in history, who would it be?
What movie do you never get tired of watching?

Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
First Date...

First encounters should be casual and fun, allowing you to relax and be yourself. I always like to check out the Scene to see what's going on around town, and then pick something that allows us to get to know each other better.

Ideally, I'm looking for somebody who has a passion for the arts and a grand sense of humor. Being silly and finding ways to lighten up a sitguation are very attractive to me. As always, there is a time and a place to be serious, but I find laughter to be a fine remedy for most of life's ailments.

I'm also attracted to those who have a sense of adventure and like to try new activities. Whether it be finding a new trail to bike/hike, checking out an historical/recreational landmark, or maybe even taking a class together, I find that learning something new with somebody creates an everlasting bond.
