New to POF and in a new city (Bend). I enjoy hiking when I can, Bend has so many trails I extend to explore, but would love to find someone to hit the trails with.
My daughter is now 21 and beginning her navigation through adulthood out on her own, which is what lead me to accepting a new position here in my company's Bend office. I've been single and only dating casually for the past 10 years or so, primarily to gaurd my daughter from any potentially painful experiences, but in hindsight it was probably a poor decision. It didn't allow her exposure to what adult relationships look like.
Probably took that thought a little deeper than needed on a profile page, but that's kind of who I am. I share my thoughts with out much of a filter. It has always allowed me to process things and move on from them.
I do work a fair amount here in the local medical field and enjoy what I do. But I've always looked at work as not a definition of who I am but rather what I do to provide me the means to be who I am.
In addition to hiking, I enjoy golf, camping and fishing, venturing out of the city to stargaze (typically with my daughter). Solo vacations; I took 10 days drove 3,300 mile through all 9 western states, hiked Yellowstone and then down through the 5 National Parks of Utah. It was a very self-enlightening journey, wish to find a partner to have adventures with.
Okay, enough over sharing... If you made it through that and are still interested in learning more of the unfinished story. Maybe we can pen a few good chapters or more. If not, best of luck in finding what you seek.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
It's been a bit since my last true first date. I don't have a go to, so I suppose coffee or a hike, something innocuous.
For me the best first dates are the ones that leave you anticipating the next.
