While I find this way of "meeting" challenging, I remain hopeful that it may be worthwhile, and am keeping a sense of humor, though at times a cynical one ;)
Although I grew up In Colorado, and spend a lot of time there, I prefer warm weather year-round. My daughter and her family are in Santa Barbara, so I've relocated and SB is home now (I won't move within CA or to another State.) I would love to split time between SB and Denver (perhaps "summer" there?).
My favorite times are spent listening to music: folk, rock and roll, classical, and opera. I thrive on traveling, reading, dancing, gardening, snorkeling, swimming, sea kayaking, cycling on the flat. I often attend and support the arts: theater, concerts, movies, museums, galleries.
Professionally, I am a retired Occupational Therapist who worked in rehabilitation, and am now an occasional free-lance writer; I have written two books. I also recently worked part-time in a Newport Beach art gallery. I have a part-time job caring for my two grandkids.
I am politically liberal, a democrat and, while I appreciate everyone's opinion choices, I would not be a good match for a staunch conservative.
I was raised reformed Jewish. I respect anyone else's beliefs (unless they hurt others), and ask the same.
Marc Cohn's song, "True Companion," resonates with me. I was married for thirty years, so don't take romantic relationships lightly. I am comfortable being single and enjoy my life as it is, but am open to a rare relationship. I know there are some great guys out there, and will wait to meet mine. Please no requests for casual hook-ups, no double standard of age difference, no grumps or players. For my part, I only play games sanctioned by Parker Bros. My ideal guy is demonstrative, humorous, intelligent, well-read, generous, romantic. I am looking for someone who is emotionally brave, optimistic about a new relationship, romantic (or able to fake it indefinitely).
In my perfect scenario, we will: have adventures, travel some, socialize with family and friends, take time for just us. I would love to retire from this site!
Here's to us…Cheers.
