Elissa & Brent, Married 4/2016
I'll admit, I was the first one to message between the two of us. Brent met everything that I'd ever wanted in a guy, and then some. After a couple of weeks of messaging and texting, we decided to go on a date.
We were both from very small towns in Nebraska, separated by about a half an hour of driving. Our high schools had competed against each other.
When we were looking for ideas for a first date, I wanted to be somewhere we were both comfortable. We'd both grown up in the country, and it was smack in the middle of county fair season. When I asked him if he'd like to go to a tractor pull on our first date, he replied with "What redneck wouldn't?"
After the pull was over, we walked around the fairgrounds for a couple of hours, talking and getting to know each other. He dropped me off at my car that night and gave me a kiss goodnight. It was that moment I knew he was different than any other guy (in a good way).
After 8 months of dating, he asked me to marry him during "The Dance" at a Garth Brooks concert in Omaha. We were married a month and a half ago in a 150-year-old church on a historic farm.
I couldn't be happier. Thank you, POF, for helping me meet my husband and the man of my dreams.
