I am a United States Marine currently stationed at 29 Palms, California. On another note, I'm a Christian. You can't convince me otherwise.
Right now in my life I am just trying to have a heart for Christ. Loving others as he loved, you know? One of the things Christ did before he died was he washed his disciples' feet - and then had them wash eachother's feet. It was an act of caring love.
I am finding it hard to balance my work (the USMC) with my relationship with others, and God. I suppose more effort is due on my part. We'll see.
I spend a lot of time thinking about who I am in Christ. To some of you, this doesn't matter, so obviously it isn't meant for you. However, to those who understand what I am going through, you should be able to relate.
We've got this thing, some call it the Great Commission. Basically, it goes as follows:
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."(NIV)
My question has always been where do I fall into place in this? I understand about evangelizing, and I have a heart to spread the word, but how does the Lord want me to go about it? You wanted to know what I think about, well, I just showed you what is on my heart. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
I am the type who likes to do the traditional thing, but I am open to new ideas! Going to the lake, eating out, just being together. I do like to dance. I love to watch movies, especially action/horror/comedy flicks. Hanging out is always cool - find a nice coffee shop or park and we have a plan. Spontaneous things can be cool. We'll see.
