Life is good. I have become the person I didn't know I always wanted to be. I have a job that I'm very good at, family that I have never been closer to, and friends not only stand by me, but make this world a much richer place. And Yet....
I would like to share this with someone. Someone who could enjoy a sunset, sharing the moment, with or without conversation, Someone less concerned about losing something, as missing what is right in front of them. Someone who has a passion for Life.
I grew up under a great big Sky, North Dakota and now I'm back. My life has come full circle and now I'm in the part of the country that I've yearned to be. This is an area of the country that has so few people that it would qualify as frontier as defined by the census of 1880 (less than 2 pers/sq.mile averaged for that county). There were eight students in my graduating class and 120 in all 12 grades. Neighbors knew and helped each other. If they lived within 20 miles of you, you would know the year and make of the cars and pickups they drove. My dad could tell who had driven on the yard from their tire tracks.
But on a deeper level we don't give up our secrets easily. I don't tell many that the call of a red-winged blackbird, can send a pang through me that is a physical ache. I don't mention that drifting snow makes a soft undulating hiss like white noise when it is the texture of sand. Or that the gobble of a wild turkey, shimmering in the still morning air, causes a shiver. If you understand, you have tasted something of life's simple, but priceless gifts.
I treasure these. Show me those things you hold close to your heart, and I will share with you, mine. And not just the past, but how much life can we squeeze into Now? Let's take the pictures but leave pouring over the albums for a little latter.
Oh, the Tag line:...When was the last time a kiss took your breath away, or someone looked back at you, smiled ... and your heart dropped. It's been a little while, but I haven't forgotten. I'd love being reminded; would You?
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Meet at a bookstore,or a booksigning, or rent a Sunfish and go sailing, or drive to a marina, look at some boats and maybe have some lunch. Let's enjoy each others company and see what Happens....
