In a relationship, friends are cool, but I'm really damn busy lately :P
I'm a laid back guy looking for someone who knows how to be honest. I'm fiercely loyal until given a reason not to be. I'm big on art (Escher, Dali, and Monet are my favorites), but I'm not an art snob. I'm an Atheist with a healthy respect for Taoist philosophies. I'm not too fond of organized religion in general (the institutions, not the practitioners). I'm a vegetarian. I'm extremely compassionate and empathetic, but my sarcastic smartass side keeps me balanced. I tend to use rather dry humor, but I can be a major goof when I'm in the mood (Eddie Izzard and Steven Wright are my favorite comedians, whatever that says about my sense of humor). I'm not fond of rude people, especially ones who treat those in service jobs (food servers/toll road workers/bellhops/etc.) as beneath them. I love the outdoors; hiking, backpacking, but I hate Texas summer heat. I have two cats who unfortunately can't live with me right now (apartment thing). Dogs I like, but not exactly nuts over (sorry, I won't kiss your dog on the mouth no matter how much we get along). Let's see. I like a huge assortment of music, but I'm not into most (but not all) rap, r&b, country, hip hop, and "pop". Other than that I've got pretty varied taste. I've got only the two facial piercings; eyebrow and labret, and no tattoos. I'm not interested in random hook-ups and one-night-stands. I know who I am well enough to know exactly what I can change and adapt without ever compromising myself. Well, like anyone I'm more than words, but this is a start (yep, even all this is "just" a start).
Oh yeah, I picked the "lobster" personality because I may be all armor and claws on the outside, but I'm a softy inside and I'd rather mate for life than play the field. I prob'ly turn all red when dunked in boiling water too, but I don't really want to test that theory :P
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Naturally nothing's written in stone, and I like to try to pull a few surprises from my hat, but in general: A nice quiet restaurant with a romantic atmosphere where we can talk and not be disturbed. Afterwards watching the lights as we go for a stroll to a nearby ice cream shop for dessert. Or driving around aimlessly talking about our childhoods until late in the night. Or hitting up a coffee shop and discussing philosophy. The first date's all about getting to know each other, so I expect a lot of talking and sharing. Not so much into the movie/club scene for first dates.
