Most importantly I'm looking for friends on here. Friends are such an important part of my life and, although I already have a very wide circle of them - I am always looking for more. A person can never have too many friends; I love and care about all of my friends and from me they can expect honesty, loyalty and integrity, three values which are immensely important to me. I am passionate about civil rights and justice - my heroes are Robert F Kennedy and Martin Luther King and, like my other hero Tony Benn, I don believe the struggle for equality, justice and fairness is never either won or lost - it just continues with each generation, which fights its own battles and faces its own challenges.
I am also looking for a relationship; and everything I would want in a friend I would want in a relationship - plus, of course, much more. I am fiercely loyal to those I love and would risk my life for the most important person in my life. I do not judge other people but I am reluctant to try and help people if they are reluctant to try and help themselves. In a relationship I look for equality, respect and truth, and - of course - honesty. Without honesty there can be no basis for any relationship, whether friendship or sexual.
My interest in civil rights led me into being involved in the Trade Union and Labour movement as a Workplace Rep, and I have since been elected to a number of different positions within the Trade Unions, locally and regionally. My other interests include photography (used to develop my own pictures). travelling (for example I went to Russia for five weeks in 2009, just for the experience). I also have a great passion for music which I studied when I was doing my A-Levels - I love everything from classical to Rock, nu-metal to 80's electro-pop, and everything in between, In the last year I have managed to combine two of my interests (music and photography) but photographing local bands and gigs. My dream job would be a travel photographer, where I would get to travel the world while taking beautiful pictures of beautiful places...
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
I would leave any first date up to the preference of my date. A first date is an opportunity to get to know each other - unless is is something completely outrageous - and who wants to go on a first date that is completely outrageous - then it doesn't really matter where a first date happens. Good food and drink is always a good way to get to know someone else and I am all for that but it is not essential. A concert or an evening of entertainment gives people something to talk about and break the ice, though I do feel like I can break the ice anyway with most people. So a first date I would probably leave to the choice of the other person who wanted to share it with me.
