I like sitting on my front porch with a cup of hot chocolate, chatting about the day's news and wishing the sun set in the east instead of the west. (My porch faces east.) And in the midst of deep discussions and intriguing analyses, I love to tease and be teased. :)
I like going out for dancing, dinner, or happy hour, and I also enjoy staying home to watch a movie. I rarely watch movies alone, but I enjoy them with other people. Card games, board games, and conversation over appetizers and wine can be a fun, easy way to entertain at home. A little travel sounds good (for the novelty of it), but my 40-hour work week gets in the way. I'm counting the months until retirement!
In case you've heard of the five love languages, the two that are most meaningful to me are quality time and physical touch.
In the question of text vs. call, I prefer face-to-face. Texting is great for logistics and "thinking of you" quickies, but a phone call says so much more. I want to hear your voice and feel the energy of it. I like the pace of phone conversations better than the tedium of texting, and when conversations veer into comedy, I want to see the sparkle in your eyes.
I'm looking for the usual ... an intelligent, fun, healthy gentleman who lives within 20 miles of Jackson, Missouri.
I love a man who is a master at teasing. There is an art to it, and not everyone can do it well. It takes a man who can read between the lines, so to speak ... who recognizes a play on words and can take as much as he dishes out. This is a man who can (almost) keep a straight face while we role play a ridiculous scenario or whose timing is impeccable as he spills a few words that take our conversation spinning into a whole new direction.
I prefer that you sometimes like to talk about controversial ideas and deep thoughts, like religion, politics, philosophy, and the reasons people do the things they do. I strongly prefer that you take good care of your health in order to have a rich, active life, and if you're healthy enough to be my age (or close to it) without needing prescribed medications, I'll probably be smitten. I prefer that you don't smoke, and if you also know how to fix things, how can I resist your charm?
Although I have friends with widely ranging beliefs, I prefer to date men who have a Christian worldview. I'm open to all Christian denominations, and church attendance isn't required. It's just easier (and happier) to date someone who shares the same basic beliefs.
Oh, ... and one more thing," (said in my best Detective Columbo voice), I hope the age on your profile is your real age.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
I would love to meet someone with a glass of wine or ice cream in Capaha Park on a beautiful, sunny afternoon, though I think that's too much like wishing to meet a prince riding a white horse.
Well, then ... Meet me at Barnes & Noble when I least expect it?
Maybe we'll bump carts at Walmart?
Perhaps you'll smile when we lock eyes at the Library?--Wait! You'll have to do more than smile, but that's a good start.
