I seriously enjoy being me, and that's not something you find very often. Everyone seems to want to run up a laundry-list of complaints, of all the things that could be better. Oh, my job sucks, the weather is crappy, gas is expensive... Not me. I legitimately enjoy every day, even the crappy ones. I have a nice apartment, a cool job, an amusing cat and some equally amusing friends. My philosophy on life is pretty simple, I just go with the flow most of the time, and it carries me to interesting places. It takes a lot to surprise me, even more to irritate me, and it's almost impossible to offend me. Seriously, I dare you to try... ;). I can find enjoyment anywhere, and do -- I'm sort of a warehouse of esoteric information and strange experiences. A small subset: I've been peed on by a dolphin, jumped off a bridge, gotten lost in the woods and one time I accidentally took down the network at a Fortune 500 company while demoing a software product. I fixed it, in case you're wondering.
I'm sort of backwards... I'm as logical as any computer geek and as empathic/intuitive as a good writer should be. I'm a music snob who likes every song he hears, a literary snob who still reads the worst pulp novels. I call my philosophy optimistic nihilism, and it's a pretty accurate description. I'm wicked-smart, even though I act like a dumbass sometimes. I'm funny, except when I'm not. I'm quietly assertive. About the best thing I can say about myself is that I don't judge anyone until I've walked a mile in their shoes, and even then I usually understand enough to not pass critical judgement.
I like to think I've picked up a little wisdom, probably more than I should have by my age. I've certainly acquired some d*mn good stories. Basically, if you like conversation with substance, the random beauty of life's little Zen moments, knowing silences and being together, shoot me a message. As fish go, I'm not a bad catch.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Well, chartering a Jet to fly for a quick bite to eat in Aspen is always nice.
I guess, anyway ;p.
The best dates I've ever had have been random and spontaneous, so I'm just gonna go with that.
