About Me
I am creative, upfront, hard-working, loyal, imaginative, and spontaneous. I am an active person, enjoy anything new and exciting, and am more than willing to try new things. I'm a very good listener and relish deep conversations. I generally think of myself as a fun person, and try to show those around me a good time. I love to make people laugh. I enjoy life and find that there is always something amusing, and at the same time, poignant to gain from any experience. I believe that everyone has a story to tell, and I am interested in hearing yours. I know what I want in life, and I'm willing to put in the work it takes to get it.

I spend a lot of time creating, whether it's writing, drawing, making jewelry or cgi artwork. I feel that there are so many things that I want to create that I'll never have the time to bring all those ideas into the world. But that never stops me from trying.

I'm also a firm believer that learning is a constantly evolving process, and that the more you learn, the more you have to offer to the world. So I'm always in the process of learning something new, and finding new ways to expand my mind and heighten my perspective.

I love 80's music, cheesy movies, planning for the inevitable zombie/robot take-over, reading anything I can get my hands on, pondering how anyone EVER came up with the idea for chain-mail (seriously, its the most eye-crossing, hand-cramping activity in history), debating philosophical or religious ideas, and think that there are few things in life more alluring than a woman with intelligence and creativity. :)

What I’m doing with my life
I work as a subcontractor for county utilities. When I'm not at work I've either got a pencil, paint brush, some sort of precision tool, or a book in my hand. I'm in the process of putting the finishing touches on my artistic portfolio, and networking as much as possible to get my work out in the world. All of that creative energy is being spent moving me ever closer to opening my own design company.

I’m really good at
Making chain-mail jewelry, creating digital art, technical drawing, seeing from multiple perspectives, remaining objective, soaking up information like a sponge, seeing to the heart of complex issues, teaching others, listening, supporting others, speed-reading, bridging cultural, religious, and ideological gaps, and memorizing movie quotes and random song/band info. Three o'clock in the morning and some 80's song won't stop running through your head until you figured out who sang it? I'm your man! (I'm telling you, it was Quiet Riot!)

The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told my eyes catch people's attention; Big, dark brown almost black eyes that sometimes have gold streaks in them depending on the light. I've often been told that I am 'an old-soul' after talking with someone for any length of time.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Can't pick a favorite, but here's a few that blew my hair back... Anything by Kerouac, Bradbury, Lovecraft, T.S. Elliot, Thoreau, Henry Miller, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Other favorites include Prometheus Rising, On The Road, Canterbury Tales, Get In The Van, A World of Ideas, The Peaceful Warrior, Legend of the Five Rings, To Reign in Hell, House of Leaves, The Secrets of Life, The Art of War, Death: A Life Story, A Brief History of Everything, The Journey of Socrates, 1984, The Dark Tower series, and Fahrenheit 451.

The Fountain, Identity, Boondock Saints, Memento, Requiem For a Dream, Crash, 11:14, In God's Hands, Thank You For Smoking, Meet Bill, Go, Labyrinth, Army of Darkness, The Usual Suspects, Pathfinder, Deceiver, Inception, The Commitments, Weirdsville, Count of Monte Cristo, INK, The Shape of Things, Closer, Mr. Nobody.

I'm addicted to music, and I mean seriously addicted. I have to have music, of all styles, in my life. Rock, country (though very little), jazz, blues, rap, techno, industrial, pop, punk (I love some good old school punk), world, and basically anything with a beat. Give me a melody or at the very least a message.

As for my favorites? That's a really long list. Since my musical tastes are so varied, I tend to have mix cds in my stereo that befuddle your average listener. Music enhances my life and my imagination, so I like to have a little of everything on hand. But 80's music rocks my world. Here's a few to get you started:

ANYTHING 80's, 30 Seconds to Mars, Delerium, Enigma, My Chemical Romance, AFI, Jonny Lang, Ani DiFranco, Stuck Mojo, Kidney Thieves, Bad Religion, Sublime, Loreena McKennit, Type O Negative, Common Sense, Cold, Atmosphere, The Killers, RA, Poe, Jack Johnson, Rhea's Obsession, Sade, David Bowie, Sevendust, Van Halen, KISS, Sprung Monkey, Tech 9, Agent Orange, Johnny Cash, Silverchair, Violent Femmes, Mono, Henry Rollins Band, Supersuckers, Tapping The Vein, Lords of Acid, Bouncing Souls, The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, Queen, Peter Gabriel, Jeff Healey Band, Lunachicks, Massive Attack, Lacuna Coil, Deftones, Psychotica, Dropkick Murphys, Zebrahead, The Commitments, Joe Satriani, MC Chris, Sarah McLachlan, Bowling For Soup, Within Temptation....and if I don't stop now, I never will...

Firefly, My Name is Earl, Sons of Anarchy, Survivor Man, X-Files, The Alaska Experiment, BSG, Deadwood, Carnivale, and Dead Like Me.

Mexican, Italian, sushi, seafood (mmm...scallops), Chinese, Indian, southern-style home cooking, Thai

The six things I could never do without
Family, music, knowledge, art, intellectual freedom, and a cause.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The many intricate, wild things that happen behind the scenes in this crazy world, why a lot of people value mediocrity, objective versus subjective perceptions of reality, how to reach people through art, my next project, the perfect playlist, why music has become so watered-down and commercial, when Beiber and Gaga will fade into obscurity (hopefully soon), and what in the HELL happened to Charlie Sheen and Tom Cruise? WTF?!?

On a typical Friday night I am
Either hanging out with friends, going to karaoke, camping, playing cards, or just hanging out at home watching a movie, reading a good book, or working on any number of artistic projects. Mostly following my Muse wherever it leads... Care to join?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can do a mean cabbage-patch, love doing weird/random accents, and clowns don't scare me. :)

You should message me if
You have an open mind, love a good conversation, are tired of the bar scene, love to laugh, have something clever to share, you have Tiger-blood, or if you are scared of clowns.

Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
It's all up to what's decided when I talk to someone. I'd enjoy going out to dinner, going to the lake, a movie, getting some coffee, sky-diving. I'm open for anything provided it allows us to talk and get to know each other. True story; Once, in high school, I took a date to one of those mini grand-prix tracks. We had a lot of fun running each other off the track and doing doughnuts in the middle of the track, which really annoyed the guys who worked there. It was fun, but looking back on it, not exactly the best way to get to know someone. Though you CAN learn a lot about someone's personality by how they drive. :)
