Well, everyone else opens their profile with "I am really bad at this but..." so I guess I'm the exception.
And the site is telling me I should smile more, but I say they can kiss my ass.
Anyway, I'm initially from the eastern burbs of Cleveland and moved to the Las Vegas Valley, and I will always call it pop, not soda.
I am a paradox. Humorous yet serious. Reserved yet gregarious. Absent-minded yet aware. Superficial yet deep. But almost always wily. My words are chosen carefully, and expressed efficiently. Everything I do is done with a purpose in mind, even when I am not always conscious of the purpose.
A lifelong movie buff, I am fascinated by cinema as both an art and science. My top three favorite motion pictures of all time is "2001: A Space Odyssey," "TRON," and "Dark City." I am a sucker for Kubrick and science fiction in general, as well as the works of Hitchcock, Spielberg, Scorsese, Verhoeven, Cameron, Michael Bay, and anything that overindulges in CGI. I have even considered a career in movie making. But I have no interest in making a movie, rather I have an interest in making a GOOD movie that will blow away the competition THE FIRST TIME. And let me tell you that shooting a movie is nowhere near as exciting as dreaming it up.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, going to movies, playing video games, building my computer, etc.
Black metal, Viking metal, and especially the symphonic variety of both, industrial and industrialized metal, aggrotech, and '80s pop are but few of my favorite genres. But really, I have a taste for a variety of musical genres; I don't really care if something is popular or not, and I'm not a fan of any particular band beyond the songs I like; if it sounds good then it is good.
I could say that I'm laid back, easygoing, endearingly eccentric, and the craziest/funniest person you'll ever know, but nearly everyone says that...and then you get into an actual conversation. If you're extremely religious or political, you're better off looking elsewhere. I associate myself with those who don't take things too seriously, so I do my best to stay away from all that bullshit, because I haven't found a right answer to either of them, so debating about it is ultimately pointless.
Oh, and I'm not a big fan of kids, at least other people's kids (unless you count your dog or goat), they annoy me. So if you have them, I'm not likely interested.
Let's see, meeting for coffee is pretty typical. A quiet atmosphere makes more sense than a bustling sports bar or casino where the lower lifeforms hang out. (I'd have to get drunk beforehand.)
Going to the movies is a highly underrated pursuit, as long as it's not "Twilight" or any of its derivatives. All the chatter about not getting to know each other in the cinema is complete bullshit. Plenty of people talk during the movies.
Manhattan Express? Adventuredome? Desperado? Stratosphere? I'm something of a roller coaster buff and have scholarly knowledge of roller coasters and amusement parks all over the world.
McDonald's or Denny's? Because honestly, no one is worth a five-star restaurant on a first meeting. (But trust me, the food quality is the same.) Not interesting enough? I also find those hick diners in the middle of nowhere intriguing... And what the hell? Dave & Buster's is always awesome, although I have yet to find one in Southern Nevada.
Or perhaps you have ideas of your own?
