About Me
Hmm, about me? I am a successful, independent, outgoing gal who has yet to learn to sit still. My friends and family will tell you that I am a real softy at heart, so in other words ignore the tough nut on the outside when we meet! ? Honestly though, I am one who is quick to laugh and help people. I am quite outgoing and for some reason I tend to intimidate men. I don't know why since a strong, independent, successful, loving life kind of man is what I am looking for, it just does not always work the other way around.
I prefer to be outdoors no matter what the season. In the winter it is all about skiing and the summer I live on my boat on weekends. Next summer I may stay home a bit since I had a pool installed. Woo, hoo, pool party at my place. Throughout the year love hiking with my dogs. Yes, I have two dogs so I hope you like furry friends? Daisy is a 3 yrs old Golden Retriever and she is my “baby girl” and I’ve had her since she was a pup. Fritz is a 3 ½ yrs Shepherd Cross that I rescued from the Humane Society when he was 1 ½ yrs old. The two of them are the best of friends and they bring me loads of joy and laughter.
I have never been married and to be honest it has not been by choice. When my dad passed away 6 years ago I got very involved with the business and now at 42 I’ve realized that I need to focus on me again. I have many male friends (some I know for nearly 20 yrs) and they all say if single I would be a "prize catch" for them. All that nice talk has not helped my single status though. Due to the nature of my career (engineering) people are always surprised that I have yet to meet someone (I work with all men after all). The truth of the matter is that I rarely meet someone single through work, and the ones that are would be a tad too young for me. I will never be a Cougar!
As mentioned above my summer passion is boating up in Orillia and the winter it is all about skiing. I have a 10 yr old nephew that I kidnap a lot. I take him to Florida, skiing and if it was up to him he would spend every weekend on the boat with me acting as my first mate. In other words, I love kids and for some strange reason they love me too. I did more travelling when I was younger and realize I miss it. I guess the places I want to see most (Prague, Fiji, Thailand, Africa) would be more fun with a boyfriend / husband then with a friend or alone for that matter. I don’t speak French but I speak German almost fluently. I love to cook and the thing about being single and living in the burbs is that I don’t get to do it often enough (except for family). I am also handier then most women (and some men). It’s the engineer in me. Oh how I would love to find a man that would do stuff for me! I enjoy being independent but it can get lonely and frustrating sometimes. I need that second pair of hands more often then I care to admit.
Work wise I am self-employed and love what I do. I do know how to step away from that so you need not worry about me having time for my Mr. Right. I have a fulfilling life but I admit that I am starting to get lonely. I always say that I want a man, I don't need one. I want someone to share all the good and bad things that go on in life. I also need a first mate (hee, hee, hee - not kidding though).
Fitness wise I have been doing the P90X program for almost two years and love it! It has made me stronger then the average woman (so if you need helping lifting I am your gal). I joined a gym to get out of the house a bit and meet new people but it is always so crowded. Other then that, I power walk about 8 kms a day with Daisy and Fritz.
So, I don't know if I wrote any of the rights things to peak a man's interest but I hope so. By the way, I am a true Leo gal so if you know anything about that you will have a good feel for what I am like.
I guess I should also mention some of the things I am looking for in a man:
- NO issues (troublesome exes, addictions, fetishes)
- Does not want to be mothered (many say they don't but hmm, that is questionable)
- Someone who can laugh at himself (I do it all the time)
- Someone confident enough that they can sit back and let a woman be strong once in a while
- Affectionate (no excessive PDA but you know what I mean)
- Good family relationship (can never understand being estranged from people who love you)
- Good friends, but not too many that they have no time to be with a woman
- MUST, MUST, MUST love animals
- Hopefully a skier
- Someone who does not get sea sick (could be a real problem)
- Good with children AND want them or has some to share
- Someone who wants a long term relationship
- Someone who likes to go out for dinner and drinks once in a while, but also enjoys staying at home and share a nice meal
- Likes to dress nice but can wear jeans well
- A man who is well groomed but NOT a metro sexual
