Tired of the same old thing?
I'm both a single dad with full custody of a wonderful 12 year old daughter and a software development expert. Kids are a joy, and I'm enjoying my time as a dad and a parent. And yes, I admit that I would never have seen how happy and much fun being a parent is. Granted, I'm also not denying that it is a lot of work. As for the software development (i.e. my career), I've had major accomplishments in figuring out what the goals of the application/program are and how the application/program can do what the customer/users want. Basically, if you have a problem you need solved by the computer, I'm the person they assign to figure it out.
I'm looking for someone who enjoys being around kids, but doesn't mind that I've been snipped. This probably means that she already has kids of her own. I'd like someone who is willing to gradually expand their family as I expand mine. Someone who is is willing to meet someone different (Have been all over the place, I have a different perspective then you're use to). Someone whom I can let down my guard with. Someone who will let me be serious and at other times, and other times let me be totally silly. And enjoy both of those times with me. Someone who till appreciate my sacrifices and assistance but will also sacrifice and assist me. Someone who will both give and receive and will let me give and receive too. And someone who isn't turned off by the things about me that make me great at what I do for a living.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
1) Something where the kids have fun and we can talk while we watch them play
2) Meeting somewhere for a drink or something and then going for a walk while we talk with each other
4) "Apples to Apples" (see http://shop.mattel.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3761634)
