About Me
I love summer! And spring and fall also. I don't like winter very much and the older I get the less like it! I was diagnosed with cancer in January/13, and have been off work, getting cured. I am doing very well at it, but it is a lot of work and takes a lot of my time with various protocols I follow. I feel great nowadays, and ready for a wonderful summer!
I like to garden and have a raised garden bed at home, where I am trying to grow a bunch of different things. Old Rock and Roll is what I usually listen to, but like most music. I don't care for most country music or rap, but some of it is ok. I'm not good at dancing, but will if I have to.....
I like summer activities, and anything around the lake, kayaking, swimming. A nice campfire at night. Long summer nights watching the sun go down. Our 12 year old dog usually travels with me.
I have grown to love Slave Lake in the summer; for a transplanted maritimer, the lake is the next best thing to the east coast. The air is so pure & fresh....
I like to camp, and don't mind tent camping as long as the bed is comfy. I'm debating buying a camper van and heading out for a long tour somewhere....
I like antiques/vintage stores, stuff & flea markets, but as I am trying to downsize, I do more looking than buying these days.
I am a semi-professional genealogist and enjoy helping others research their roots. My own roots are in Scotland and England and I have compiled several genealogies on various branches of my family tree. I discovered a bunch of quite colorful ancestors and a few outlaws as well. I also maintain a website for genealogical research.
I spend as much time as I can with my daughters and my grandchildren - ages 4, 2 and 1....and there's another one on the way.
I have been alone for a long time. I think it's time to meet someone nice for me.
I don't have a big list of requirements for my special guy, but I hope you have a good sense of humor - that's the sexiest thing about a man. Honesty and loyalty are two very important traits. I need to be able to trust you. I don't care if you have all the toys, boats and bikes...who you are is more important than what you have.

First Date
Any good coffee shop, lots of chatting and getting to know each other, take a walk on the beach if one is near...or just driving around, explorjng new places. I'm definitely open to many options!
