I was born and raised in Southern Cal but lived in Honolulu for about 9 years, so I have a little bit of the local boy in me. I love kalua pig, lau lau, portuguese sausage, malasadas, manapuas, shave ice, and slush floats. I can't surf, though -- tried, but it's just not my sport. I work in the defense industry, and though my job title says I'm a Software Engineer, all I seem to be doing lately is PowerPoint presentations. ha.
I spend most of my weekends working on my house (or mom's or my friend's), going out with friends, or just hanging out at home. I like to do things that are fun or entertaining, like comedy clubs, movies, playing golf, and the occassional trip to Vegas. My friends would probably describe me as funny, loyal, helpful, logical, intelligent (most of the time), and playful, while at the same time sensible, reliable, and sometimes serious. I'm debt-free outside of my mortgage, and I live simply -- if you're into the lavish, label-conscious lifestyle, please move on. I prefer to spend my time and money on experiences rather than things, because... since they say you can't take *things* with you when you die, I'm hoping I get to take the memories instead. heh
I'd just like to make a new friend to have dinner with, see a movie, go to a show, or... anyone for 9 holes of golf? If we click, let's get to know each other naturally, over a little bit of time. I don't think it's possible to really know someone in one or two dates, so... if you're expecting a marriage proposal by the second month, you're in for a disappointment with me!
Like most people, I've had my share of relationship failures, but I've also learned from them. If you've ever seen "Groundhog Day", it's estimated that Bill Murray was stuck in Punxsutawney for about 30 years before he finally got it right. While we don't have that many "do overs" in real life, I'm hoping that I've learned enough to get it right this next time.
