About Me
Okay, here’s the scoop. I’ve been single now for over 5 years. Prior to that I spent the better part of a decade between 2 relationships – one 3 years, one 5.5 years. It’ll happen again, I’ll meet someone who gives me that squiggly feeling in my tummy. Someone I can’t wait to see and who I call just to hear her voice. But I’ve decided that next time will be different. NO CONCESSIONS! What does that mean? It means that in the past I’ve let things that I recognized as things I don’t like slide by, thinking I’d get over not liking them (ya know, the things) – are ya with me? So that’s what I mean by no concessions. I'm not saying no compromise, just no settling. Not someone perfect, but someone perfect for me. And I don’t expect you to make concessions either. If you don’t like me, that’s okay. No hard feelings. You know the saying, you can’t be everything to everyone. But to that one?… LOOK OUT!! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not necessarily looking for my Mrs. I’m okay with being single and dating. I believe you have to meet people to find the person. And I also believe that it happens when you least expect it. It’s when you’re intent on making it happen that you make silly concessions that will come back to haunt you one day. I’m not into forcing it. How’s that for an introduction?
Originally from the Midwest, I’ve lived in San Diego for over 20 years. I love everything San Diego, SoCal, and California have to offer. The outdoors is (are?) my heaven. Running (obviously), cycling, triathlon, hiking, beach volleyball, tennis, snow skiing (haven’t tried boarding yet), and long walks on the beach. Love going to Padre games! Something about PETCO that makes me want to drink beers (although I’m not a big drinker). Charger games are great as well, especially when they’re winning! Coronado and La Jolla are two favorite spots. Sushi! Zenbu, Sushi on the Rock, Japengo, Ono, Sushi Ota, all good. I’ve heard Station Sushi in Solana Beach is very good but I have yet to try it. I’m a bit skeptical – the place looks like a hole! (Update - Been there! Love it!) Pizza! Pizza Port, Bronx Pizza, Hoboken Pizza, all good. Burgers? Yup! Hodad’s! That’s it. Hodad’s. Mexican? Are you kidding me?!! The carne asada burrito is to San Diego as the Philly Cheesesteak is to Philly. Cheesecake, ice cream (Moo Time Creamery!), chocolate – milk or dark, I don’t care. That’s just the stuff I like, and there’s more. I’m open to trying new things and may even add some of those to my list. Does it sound like I like to eat? Yup, I like to eat. But I burn a lot of calories so it’s okay. I promise I won’t show up 20 lbs. heavier than in my photos. Note: 4 of my 5 daily meals are healthy. Dinner is generally healthy but I allow myself some guilty pleasures on occasion. It's on those occasions that I choose the aforementioned.
What kind of woman am I looking for? I don’t know. I’ve dated blondes, brunettes, long hair, short hair, tall, short, big b**bs, small b**bs – oops! Can I say that on POF?;) I guess I don’t have a type. I’ll know when I know (but remember, NO CONCESSIONS!).
Me? Hmmm, a spontaneous planner. What?! Ya, I know. Maybe a walking contradiction? Honest, open, high level of integrity, can be aloof, witty, funny (I know, looks aren’t everything), confident, serious, goofy, sarcastic, loyal, caring, compassionate, affectionate, h*rny – wait, what?! Sorry, sometimes my fingers type things I have no control over. There’s so much more to me that I can’t even think of right now.
