First dates are tough. Depends on the season. Dinner is a standard good choice, or drinks. But bowling is great. Or going to hit balls at the driving range is good. Not a full round of golf, because if it goes badly you are stuck. Not good. MOvies are no good because then you can't talk, and I am ABSOLUTELY looking for good conversation. Sporting events can be great, but my competitive nature can sometimes get the best of me. And let's face it, no one looks good eating a hot dog. Plays are good, especially ones that prompt good conversation, with drinks after to HAVE that comversation. Going to gardens, or the zoo, or the park are also great first dates. I thought ice skating would be fun but the potential for seeing my students is just too high. I would love to go on an adventure. THAT would be great.
