I'm a 28 year old Italian-American. After high school, I did a four year tour with the Marines with a one year deployment to Afghanistan and an 8 month deployment with the NATO forces in Naples, Italy. At age 22 I started my university studies at Rutgers Professional School of Engineering, and four years later I had a BS in computer engineering. I'm now working in Manhattan with the US Dept. of Justice.
I think a first date should not be overly long, in case the chemistry just isn't there. It should be the time to get to know someone, converse with her, get some of the basic questions answered. I feel that a venue which requires silence like a movie or show, would not be appropriate, nor would a venue that is so loud, it's impossible to hear one another talk: Concert, club, some bars and sporting events. A restaurant, on the other hand would be appropriate. The date should be 2-3 hours, start to finish and a dinner date would be perfect for that. Conversation would be easy and relaxed over a nice dinner making for a more informal evening.
