I am a regular girl who wants to settle down. I just typed up a whole page but POF deleted it so here's take two:
I moved to the Bay area last year and am having a great time exploring it. You Californians are so lucky! I am from the east coast where the ground is frozen for half the year. I come from a close-knit but globally spread family. Religion is not important to me but I am not an atheist, meaning that the door is always open. I am not sure if I would bring up my children in any particular religion but I want them to know my culture. I have no patience for bigotry or superiorty complexes. I don't like rude or unkind people, it's a big turn off. I am quite liberal.
I want to visit Turkey and Vanuatu soon and LOVE London (going again in April, two trips in less than 6 months). I love traveling (semi-luxurious, not back-packing) in general and wish I could do it as a career. I love cottage country in the summer time which is very much an Ontario thing. My favourite season is fall. I am really interested in other cultures and wish I could live in different countries to get a better sense of the world.
I love action movies and can't stand reality TV (though I did watch celebrity wife swap). I am not ashamed to be a Harry Potter fan and am currently reading the Game of Thrones (usually read other genres but I am going through a phase). I like being outside and just did a hike through the Muir redwoods, how gorgeous! Like most of us, I have fallen prey to relying on my phone too much and definitely use it as a crutch when trying to avoid eye-contact/people.
People always ask me what kind of man I am looking for and I always say a decent guy. It's an underrated word. Family values are important to me. I am not looking to change you. If you expect traditional gender roles in a relationship, I may not be the girl for you. I think what I am saying is, don't expect me to be in the kitchen! I am independent but not in a bad way. I take pride in being able to support myself. I want an equal partnership.
I am hard working and want people to give their best. I don't have unrealistic expectations.
I love to laugh whole-heartedly and am a goof. I am sensitive to caffeine, half a cup of coffee has me jumping off the ceiling.
My headline says that I am working on it and that's true. The "it" is my health, career, weaknesses, emotions and relationships. I am aware of where I tend to screw up and am trying to grow up.
