POF has forced me to admit this: I might be a snob.
Ok, whew, that's out. A bit of explanation: I don't respond well to people who send messages that look like "hey, u look good" or really any messages that use text messaging shorthand or are just a comment on my looks without reference to anything else in my profile. I most certainly don't respond well to the male version of "ratchet" pictures, displaying one or more of the following: drugs, money (so tasteless), alcohol, or guns. Not that there is anything wrong with any of those things, it's just beyond juvenile to display them and/or to make them the subject of your pictures, in my opinion. If you're messaging me, chances are you're over 25 and quite frankly, should be beyond the stage in life where you think pictures like that are cool.
The above stated, I fully expect to never receive another message on POF since I've ruled out every guy I've ever received a message from with that one paragraph. If you're still with me, though, read on. I promise I'm not terrible.
Goofy, silly, opinionated, reformed tomboy (ok semi-reformed) is the most succinct summary about myself I can give. I am also more than a little weird and I fully enjoy this about myself. It makes the days more interesting. Not weird like I have a collection of creepy doll heads in the basement (kind of need to have a basement for that) but weird in the "will burst out singing a song while doing a little dance for no apparent reason" sense. If you have never done this, you should try it. Highly entertaining.
There is nothing more fun than jumping into my car and driving for 2-10 hours, especially if it leads to somewhere I can break out the wide angle lens and tripod to make the magic happen.
POF says I should "describe my taste in music". Well sure, if they say so. I like a wide range of music from Boys Noize to Bach to Bubba Sparxxx and many things in between. To be honest though, I'm more likely to listen to a podcast or an audiobook than I am to listen to music. Note: If you want a guaranteed response to your message, mention something, anything about audiobooks.
There's a lot more to know about me, but if I say it all here, there'd be nothing to talk about on the first date. I'm pretty open and honest about things (I'm big on honesty) and am happy to answer any questions, especially if those questions relate to anything written above.
P.S. I should mention that as I'm quite the tall lady who occasionally dons quite tall shoes, I am very fond of quite tall men. I am also quite fond of intelligent men as well.
I'm big on dates that allow for some conversation without the risk of getting food in my teeth. That in mind, on my first date I'd love to go roller skating. I'm a kid at heart and I absolutely adore roller skating. The opportunity to hold hands may weigh very heavily in this decision. :) After roller skating, we could go out for a drink and if the chemistry is right, spend all night chatting.
Alternatively, bowling is always a good time.
