I think meeting right away is best to see if there is chemistry. The whole texting back and forth with the basic interview questions is a bore. Who's got time for all that?
If we meet and there is a connection, I'll text or call all day if that's our thing. But the random small talk and chit chat with someone I have not met seems irrelevant.
