I love being a Mom. It's the best gig I have ever gotten. Secondary greatest gig is starting my own business so I can take care of my sweet little family. I am a property manager and enjoy the privilege of setting my own schedule. Somehow, it makes work so much better. I happen to wear a lot of hats, besides Mom and Property Manager.
I am a musician and a booking agent for festivals and bands. I, also, produce music events. Cooking is a huge part of my life. I started cooking when I was very young. I feel I have been exposed to a wide variety of cuisine. After living in Mexico for three years, I learned how to cook almost all things Mexican.
I like playing air hockey and I don't like losing...just kidding, but not 100% I like to play pool and don't mind losing at that. I'm fairly good at darts. Cricket anyone? I'm not that great at fuzbol, oooh, but I love pinball. So, that's it for the pub games. Well, at least the ones that take quarters.
I don't know why I like being tickled as much as I do. It may go back to the fact that my mom, when I was a kid, could get me rolling in the floor by just pretending to tickle me. I have a very healthy sense and embodiment of my inner child. It keeps me young and free-spirited.
I have been focusing more of my energy on practicing my guitar lately. I have been learning for a few years, have written may songs, and can play some covers of other songs. The whole reason I started playing was so I could express my soul. You know? I just wanted that release, to say to the world, in an artful way, the subtleties and complexities that can exist in the human soul. My mom left me an amazing saxophone, I pulled it out of the closet the other day and doodled around a bit and actually came up with some good sound and a little diddy, although I had no idea what notes I was playing. It was fun. I played the clarinet in secondary school and it's not that much different from the sax.
Vanilla ice cream is better than chocolate ice cream, but I like milk chocolate.
If you were a stranger on the street and you wanted a hug, I would give you two. I write poetry from the heart, because that is where it should come from.
I feel a deep connection to my Native American roots and my Irish/English roots as the same time.
I am a liberal person, who actually cares about what is happening to humanity and our environment. I love music, whether it's live music or listening to a record and dancing in the living room like nobody is watching.
I try to love like it's never going to hurt.
I have two dogs, and I love them all the way.
I go with the flow more often than not. I still know what I want, but it may change as the situation changes.
If I died tomorrow, my only regret would be that I had never once in my life given up all my possessions to travel the world.
If the sun were not going to rise tomorrow, I'd paint as much as I could today.
If the moon were not going to rise tomorrow night, I'd make love under it tonight.
I want to take pilot lessons, because I love to fly.
I try not to have expectations, because they lead to disappointment.
I think sexy comes more from the brain than the body, but the body counts, especially if you smell good to me.
I like to be affectionate, hold hands, cuddle like pretzels in the night, even better if it's super cold.
I try to surround myself with diverse culture and people. I speak Spanish.
I love to laugh, and I'm sane enough to know it's healthy to cry.
I am gregarious, playful, and intelligent.
I love anything from don Miguel Ruiz and Paulo Coehlo. Baba Ram Dass wrote a great one called "Be Here Now." I love reading poetry from the 19th century. I am a sucker for good poetry. I always have Kahlil Gibran on the coffee table.
The first music show I remember going to was a Jazz show on 6th with my uncle. I fell in love with dancing that night while I was in a sea of dancing legs. I've gone to easily 500 shows in my life and don't plan on stopping now.
I'm into so much music it's hard to start. Here's a random list of my recently played: Avett Brothers, Bright Eyes, Leonard Cohen, Foscoe Jones, Iron and Wine, Led Zeppelin, Cat Power, Etta James, Nina Simone, Thievery Corporation, The Doors, Soul Coughing, Portishead, Bluegrass and Folk, Of Monsters and Men, Lumineers, Edward Shapre...
