I embody my name: Joy.
Which simply means I am a positive-energy, love-life kind of person.
I spent five years living as a single mom living on a sailboat with my two children. That tells you: I love adventure, I don't require much in the way of material possessions, and I love the ocean and all things ocean-related. I would prefer not to have learned electrical and plumbing, but I was willing to learn.
I teach presence and I live the practices I teach. I believe this moment is a gift, and I choose to celebrate the fullness in it.
I don't like drama. I won't bring it to the table, and I hope you won't either.
I love: laughter, candle-light, live music, chocolate, art galleries, delicious food, hiking in the hills, sailing and water-sports, dancing, moonlight, sunset, skygazing, travel, being in a large group of like-energy people or quietly being at home, long walks at ocean's edge, tennis and bowling (although I'm not great at either, I love the games).
I love the practice of yoga and meditation.
I am daring myself to learn aerial silks.
As a writer and teacher, I have lots of "off-time" to explore and play. As an entrepreneur, my goal is to continue to offer online courses, as well as offline conferences so that I may incorporate lots of travel. I love the freedom of owning my own company; I work very hard, I appreciate every moment of "living my dream", and ultimately, I would love to share this dream with someone.
I have a quiet, gentle, light up the room kind of presence. I am a good listener, because I really care about other's stories--they inspire me. However, I also thrive in extreme "push your body" kind of adventures. So, I don't fit in a box, but if I did, it would be overflowing with love of life.
My children live with me. Being their mother is a blessing. Ultimately, to share that joy with another would just expand the blessing.
If you read this, and you wonder where do you fit? I've built, am still building, this life, and I think how incredibly awesome it would be to share it...in yours, too...to one day combine, and live the 'ultimate dream'...whatever that may be. For now, I love the idea of exploring and adventuring with a special someone. Of quiet nights at home and long walks and lots of activity out in world. I don't "need" you...but I would love to know you...and I would celebrate that knowing.

Whatever it is you think I would enjoy. I love to be delightfully surprised (definitely not the "unpleasant one"...have had enough of those!)...and I love the idea that a person could read the above and thoughtfully plan something.
