When the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object. ~ Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being
First of all, I have to say that there's no question I love having fun and adventures just like EVERYBODY else here on this site. I can be a total goofball and can also be very creative. I have traveled both "gypsy" style as well as luxuriously and I'm always open to trying pretty much anything. I love to laugh and do have a great sense of humor and you will find me playful most of the time. What activities we do or have in common (go Giants!!) are irrelevant to me as I believe that whatever they are (wine tasting!!), they'll always be much more enjoyable when a strong deep relationship has been established and maintained, and here's where it gets serious... I know, I know... WHY do I have to do this to you? Why ruin it with serious stuff? It would be far much more enjoyable perhaps for you to talk about my fascinating and extreme "hobbies" which we just happen to have in common or about my very sophisticated and excellent music taste which of course, we perfectly match :). But I won't do that as I'm not here to serial date nor waste my time or yours ... If what I'm about to articulate here resonates with you at the core of your being and you feel that we could be true potential partners, please send me an e-mail and share with me why or how so.
When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be. The words of my beloved Lao Tzu...
Unconventional, androgynous (as in "paradoxical unity"), and emotionally intelligent is how I choose to view myself and hope that what I share here with you reflects my very subjective if not delusional perception. As the old Jewish proverb goes and the lovely Anaïs Nin enjoyed quoting, We don’t see the world as it is, we see it as we are. Truth is, I believe that reality is just a shared illusion anyway...
I seek a friend, a partner, a lover with whom I have a certain amount in common and some stimulating differences; someone who has the capacity and the desire to develop an intense, deep, meaningful and close relationship at every level in an spiritually evolved non-traditional way. "The Four Agreements" has profoundly shaped my life. Rarely do I take things personally and I do make it a point not to assume; making truthful, honest, safe and loving communication a crucial part of the relationship. I believe in the Golden Rule, though I always remember the great Confucius' wise words, Expect much from yourself and little from others and you will avoid incurring resentments (or disappointments for that matter).
The stupid neither forgive nor forget, the naive forgive and forget, the wise forgive but do not forget the lessons learned from the experience. Thomas Szasz.
With that said, I've invested a great deal of time and hard work to resolve and heal as many issues from my past as I possibly could and I'm very much in touch with my feelings and emotions at this point in my life so that I do not project onto others any issues I might still have unresolved. As the amazing Carl Jung said, The best political, social, and spiritual work we can do is to withdraw the projection of our shadow onto others. So, what I would like to know is... Where are YOU at this stage in your life and can we learn and grow together?
Well Geesh!! After all the hell I just put you through and you're still reading this thing, you deserve to have some fun, don't you!?!
So howbout we "bump" into each other somewhere (like at Trader Joe's)... and pretend we are COMPLETE strangers (OMG!!, so totally digging this!!) and then I try to pick you up!?! (you HAVE to play hard to get though!!) or we could flip a coin to see who gets to pick whom up if you prefer (rolling my eyes) but that certainly would NOT be very gentlemanly of you!! but anywho, then we can shop for some wine, cheese, bread, and chocolate and whatever else you might fancy (like flowers for me, awww.. you're so romantic, love you already!) and I'll be a happy camper with your beautiful self by my side (and BTW, that's the extent of my camping!!) and then, we drive into the sunset and enjoy the beginning of a beautiful something.
...and speaking of sunsets.... we could instead get sum rum and cigars (bonus if you can get us some nice Cubanos) and set ourselves up for a long and deep conversation somewhere... like La Bodeguita del Medio in P.A. and we can discuss politics though I consider myself to be a political atheist, bored you will not be as I can amuse you with my "conspiracy theories" or Bill Hicks, one of my favorite all time comedians can do that for me... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KJPwM8nehkQ#!). George Bernard Shaw did sum it up pretty well though... You'll never have a quiet world till you knock the patriotism out of the human race. But we could always discuss religion if politics is not your thang; you know I'm gonna have an not so humble opinion about that as well don't cha... Well, I do :) May I?... I believe that God has no religion. Andrew Cohen said it best: Those of us who have transcended mythical belief systems know without any doubt that there is no God up in the sky. But when we awaken to what I call the evolutionary impulse - the mysterious passion to evolve, to become, to develop on every level--we rediscover who God is.
But I digress... back to this first date thing. Seriously speaking though, it really depends on your comfort level and personality 'cause I can do super playful and easy or I can do the classic coffee/drink thing, your call.
