About Brandon
I'm not really one to talk about myself too much. And if I tell you too much now, what would we talk about later. So I'm going to make this quick and give you the Spark Notes version of me.

My name's Brandon. I'm 27. I work in a bakery and moonlight as a stand-up comedian. I like to think I have an awesome sense of humor because of that. I'd love to say I'm really good at making people laugh (which I am at times). I've always joked with myself that if and when I record an album of my stand-up I'd call it, "Brandon Strohl...is Kinda Funny, Some of the Time". I also write poetry. I've written poems for use in my stand-up act and I've written poems at the request and for other people. I've been told I'm pretty good at it.

In my downtime between work and performing, I go to the gym, read, write, listen to music, etc. My musical tastes pretty much encompass a little bit of everything. My playlists that I make for the gym have included everything from Metallica and Eminem to The Beatles and Backstreet Boys. In fact, Spotify is really useful in letting everyone know what I like to listen to as guilty pleasures of mine. In addition to music, I'm also a huge fan of movies. I look up to people like Kevin Smith, Judd Apatow, Cameron Crowe and John Hughes. I have aspirations of writing and filming a movie one day. I just haven't figured out what it's about yet.

Since I mentioned my appreciation for music and movies. I figured I'd just throw out some of my favorites.
Music: Dashboard Confessional, Alice In Chains, Tool, Paramore, The Beatles, Big Time Rush, Katy Perry, New Found Glory, Linkin Park, Crobot, 10 Years, Parabelle
Movies: The Perks of Being a Wallflower (much like the book, this is only movie I've ever gone and seen multiple times in the theaters), The Breakfast Club, Clerks, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, Sleepwalk With Me, Short Circuit 2, High Fidelity, and the American Pie movies (but not the spin-offs).

And while I'm at it:
Books: The Perks of Being a Wallflower (despite having a bookshelf full of books, this is the only one I've read on more than one occasion), The Catcher In The Rye, Harold and the Purple Crayon (I've loved this book since I was a kid), Sleepwalk With Me.
TV Shows: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Tosh.0, Family Guy, South Park

I'm not really into the bar scene. In fact, I'm not even really much of a drinker. I'm not really crazy about the taste of beer. So when I do drink, it's usually mixed drinks. I've also been known to create mixed drinks of my own, but I tend to create mixed drinks based on whether the name sounds cool or not. Then I actually mix the drink. Examples of this have been, StrawBrandy Milk - (Strawberry Milk + Brandy), ZimmerRum (Zimmerman's Iced Tea + Rum), Voo-Doo (Vodka + YooHoo), Gatorum (Gatorade + Rum), Pink Russian (pre-mixed White Russian + Strawberry Milk) and the Brandy Caine (Brandy + Cocaine (the energy drink, not the drug)). I'm not sure if you can put parentheses inside parentheses (but I just did).

At my job, I have a lot of free time to just let my mind wander. At any given time, I'm either thinking of jokes, something that might've happened in the world, the good times, the bad times, and friends and family. In fact I couldn't live without an imagination. I'm a dreamer and I always find ways to keep myself occupied. I love being creative and I'd hate to not have that ability anymore. I have a tendency to try and find the humor in pretty much everything. I'm probably one of the first ones to try and make a joke to lighten the mood or get out of an awkward situation.
