So it turns out that herding cats isn’t as hard as it sounds. I used to be a foster for a local cat rescue center and I’ve got a few of my own so I know. You just get a bunch of them together, hold up some food and… hey presto, instant, obedient herd!
The real challenge is knowing what you’re going to do with them once you’ve done it. I’m still working on that one. Turns out they’re not much good at vacuuming the carpet or doing the dishes no matter how much catnip you promise them.
But I’m not working on it too hard. I have a job in the judicial system, which is interesting and keeps me pretty busy. And I have a grown-up daughter who teaches English abroad. It means I get to travel to some amazing places, and I’d love to do more of that. If you’ve got a list of destinations you want to visit, I’d love to see it.
But I’m more likely to be spending time with friends or family or kicking back with a book that just takes me away.
As for the person I’d like to take me away, I’m looking for someone… well, someone who’s a bit like me: conservative, a little quirky, curious and outgoing. Someone who’s got places he wants to go and things he wants to do. I really like people from other cultures so if you’re even a touch exotic, give me a holler!
