About Me
I teach special education, which is a daily source of challenges, triumphs, frustrations and laughs. I would someday like to write a book to help parents of children with special needs with their child's behavior.
I grew up in Wyoming and visit my family there regularly. My Wyoming roots give me balance in a sometimes kooky and superficial California culture. I've been in California for 15 years and I love it, but sometimes miss the "down to earth-ness" of the folks in the middle of the country. That said, I utterly DETEST country music! Barf!
I love to travel, especially to tropical locations, but I would love to explore Europe, Australia and New Zealand eventually. The great advantage of being a teacher is that I have my summers free to travel. I spent a month in Jamaica in 2010 and loved every minute! I also love to explore the bay area. It has so much to offer and I don't get to take advantage as often as I'd like. I enjoy camping and would like to go more often.
I grew up in a hunting family and totally support it, but personally have no desire to go hunting.
I have a small dog named Scooby Doo. He is a "Chiweenie" which is a mix between Chihuahua and Dachshund. I never thought I'd be a small dog person, but I'm officially a convert. I've always been a dog lover and while I really like cats, unfortunately I'm allergic to them.

First Date
I don't think there's a perfect formula for a first date. It all comes down to the connection with each other. If the connection is there, almost anything would be fun. That said, I think it's nice to stay casual with a good opportunity to talk and get to know each other.
