I'm an INFP on the Meyers-Briggs scale so I'm out of my comfort zone with this, but here goes.
I'd call myself sweet and kind, but more accurate would be considerate and caring. I'm a good listener and emotionally honest. I hate games, I firmly believe in up front honesty and discussion.
I consider myself a geek and am proud of it. I'm never happier than when I'm elbows deep in the guts of a computer - except perhaps when I'm curled up on the couch with my partner.
I'm a cat person and have several qualities commonly ascribed to felines: easy going, sedate, mischievous, playful, loving. I'm also very physically affectionate (You can thank a family full of cheek pinching "he's so cute" types for that).
This description paints me as a big teddy bear, and I suppose that's not too far off the mark.
I'm looking for someone who I can connect with (aren't we all) who can express affection physically as well. I'm not talking about sex here, although that is one form of physical affection. If you are unsure what I'm talking about, I'm an open book - ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Oh no, that's too easy. There has to be something for us to talk about, right? I will say that computers and social work play large roles in my life though.
I’m really good at
Computers are towards the top of the list, but I'm also a great listener and I've been told I give great massages too. (I like to give them too...)
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not a small guy, and while I'm not exactly proud of my weight, I'm ok with it - for now
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like a good story in books, movie or theater and I like to be surprised by them, and am not afraid of unconventional themes. Some stories I currently follow are: Game of Thrones (I like seeing the differences between the books and the show), Scandal (one of the few TV shows that can deliver plot twists that actually take me by surprise), The Wheel of Time, The Count of Monte Cristo, Grimm, Orphan Black, Continuum, Almost Human and Intelligence. I particularly like the last four for their examination on theoretical uses of advanced technology. I should also mention I am on both sides of the Star Wars/Star Trek fence and am lamenting the decline of trek.
Music speaks to us on an emotional level, bypassing the need for words or higher forms of communication. Although lyrics can, at times, add to a composition's effect. As such I like almost anything that's trying to convey an emotional message and not just about making a quick buck at the music store.
Growing up I had one rule when it came to food: try everything once. I still hold to that rule. As such I enjoy almost every kind of food there is. I will say I'm partial to sushi, but I've been known to go to Thai, Japanese, Greek, Chinese, Italian, and Middle Eastern restaurants. That said, I'm just as good to grill a steak or have pizza.
The six things I could never do without
My family; it takes a village, right?
My computer; it's my portal to the world beyond my reach.
My iphone; it's my second brain.
My friends; without someone to share it with, life's dreary.
Other than the biological imperatives (food, air, etc), almost anything else is negotiable.
On a typical Friday night I am
...hanging out with friends online.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Nothing online publicly, but in person, I'll make myself an open book to someone who's genuinely interested.
You should message me if...
...you're curious about anything you've read here.
...you think we'd get along.
...you're not looking for a hookup.
...you read this far.
