I think of myself as a grounded, successful fellow who is still evolving; I am looking for someone very special, to smile at, talk to and laugh with - someone who knows when to be serious and when not to be, who can strike that balance between what's truly important and what's rather frivolous, who can win or lose an argument gracefully and who can genuinely laugh at herself but not make fun of others; someone with little tolerance for cruelty or hypocrisy; for the others (and we all know who we are) we just won't work.
My clear and honest preference has always been for the traditional style of grace and beauty, inward and outward; excessive make up, designer clothes or cosmetic surgery are really not necessary for me; you eat well and exercise routinely, but not to excess or compulsion; you're comfortable in those old jeans and favorite t-shirt, and the occasional formal is nice in that classic little black dress; all pretty simple and straight-forward.
I really appreciate a thorough and well thought out profile, with several recent pictures (of you) - we may be on here to search, but I'd like to remove as much mystery as possible; life is short and no one wants to waste their time or hurt another's feelings - and before anyone gets too full of themselves, remember we're on a site that asks: "Do you have a car"
Smiles to all, "Don't let anybody make you into somebody you're not" (Tyler Perry, 2012)
Mid-day coffee or a early evening glass of wine, perhaps at an arts venue or sidewalk cafe; some conversation with no pressure for the occasional quiet moment; whether we call this a date or not, it would be our first meeting.
