Just back on the online scene for first time in 10 years. Wow, things are a lot different now. I guess I'm looking for someone that is serious about life but doesn't take themselves too seriously. I would consider myself someone that is open-minded, likes to try new things, go to new places and meet interesting people.
I have a passion for music. I'm the guy you'd pull up next to at a red light who is singing along to the radio or a CD. I am a bit of a contradiction. I feel nervous talking in a large group setting but have no problem going up in front of a bunch of strangers to belt out "Ice Ice Baby" or "Rebel Yell" at a karaoke bar. Recently, I got the opportunity to sing with a live band in from of a large audience. I love to travel and some of my favorite places to see have been to Maui, Cabo San Lucas, San Francisco and Yosemite but my favorite is taking a drive up the coast to Big Sur (there is something magical about that place) I love all kinds of music and enjoy going to concerts. As far as TV is concerned, I mainly watch news, football, baseball, documentaries but recently discovered Breaking Bad which is the best. My taste in movies typically is classics like The Godfather, Jaws and Goodfellas or smart, well-written movies that don't rely on nudity, explosions or constant profanity.
I like to keep active by working out regularly, playing golf with friends and recently started playing in a baseball league again after not playing for 20 years. I love kids even though I don't have any of my own and I used to coach Little League baseball. I believe it's really important to stay young at heart because the moment life stops being fun, you'll really start feeling your age. As I get older, I am finding myself more and more getting the itch to get out of my comfort zone and try new things (playing guitar, dancing lessons, yoga) go to new places and seek out alternate ideas.
One last thing. I think it's important to let you know what I'm not looking for... Shallow people/ hardcore Republicans /people that aren't empathetic to those less fortunate/people that don't love and respect animals/women that aspire to be like The Real Housewives of Orange County (nothing wrong with watching it, just have a problem with shallow, vapid people.) Thanks for reading and good luck in your search
A first date is all about getting to know someone and having a good time in a setting that's conducive to good conversation. Since I love the outdoors, a nice hike or bike ride are good ideas during the day. At night, a quiet little outdoor coffee spot or good sushi or Thai/Indian/Persian restaurants are good places too. For the more adventurous, bowling and drinks at Lucky Strike or indoor go-kart racing sound like fun too. I'm up for just about anything.
