Hi!! Thanks for stopping by!! Hmmm ... how would I describe myself? I am a very positive, upbeat person with a big heart. I am often described by others as being sweet and honest. I believe that life is very short and that we should do things that we enjoy with people we enjoy! I like to have fun and love to laugh. I like people who have a sense of humor, and who don't sweat the small stuff. To me, a sense of humor and common sense are a great combination. I am a great listener, and I'm able to carry on good conversation. Life took an unexpected turn 21 years ago and I found myself as a single parent ... I raised 3 children to adulthood on my own, and yes, i am so proud of all of them! I have a career I love, family and friends I adore, a house of my own, hobbies and interests, but the missing piece is a special man who can be my lifelong partner, friend, and confidant.
I am from Hawaii, so you may have heard, you can take the girl from the island, but not the island from the girl. This means that I was raised in a culture full of love and aloha. Even though I have lived in Southern California since 1983, I still live my life with the aloha spirit. My house and classroom even have a tropical touch to them!!!
My hobbies include bowling (I currently bowl on a league), participating in 5K's (I walk, not run), going to the movies (love romantic comedies), eating out (most anything, from sushi to steak to tacos), and reading (inspirational life stories are my favorite!). I love going to live events (concerts, plays, musical productions, sports). I am a teacher, so I enjoy doing anything that touches the lives of others and leaving my footprints on their hearts. **Here's a side note since I usually get asked what kind of teacher I am ... I am a special education teacher in a public school ... I've been teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities for 14 years. Prior to that, I was in hospital management for 17 years working with the medical staff.
I'm looking for someone to enjoy life with. I want someone I can talk to about anything, someone who can carry on a conversation both verbally and non-verbally. I want someone who looks forward to seeing me at the end of the day, just as I would him. I want someone I can be affectionate with (I love, love, love giving and receiving affection!) and who makes my heart skip a beat whether we are together or apart. I know this sounds like a fairytale but I want to be someone's queen. So where are you My King? I know you are out there.
If you have any questions you would like to ask me, please do. At our age, we all have life stories. I have a story, and would love to hear yours. If you read my profile and I have sparked any curiosity or interest, please contact me.
Well, that's all for now. If I tell you everything, there will be nothing left to find out about! LOL
I think that the first time we meet is not really a date, but could actually end up being one. What we decide to do the first time we meet doesn't matter as long as it's something we are both comfortable with. It could be chatting over coffee, having a meal, going for a walk, watching the sunrise or sunset, or a combo of all of the above! Looking forward to meeting you!
