About Me
The two things that fill my life, besides friends and work, are art and politics. I studied photography and film in college and used that experience to become a self employed videographer. I was a ballerina as a child and continued studying dance until I received my M.F.A. from Mills College. I was in a dance company for awhile and would like to start my own company once I find a live/work rehearsal space. I went to Europe on an Art History tour travelling to England, France, Germany, Italy, and Greece. Art enriches to my life and I love going to museums. I recently took a trip to Washington D.C. and went to 15 museums in 14 days.
I am also very active in politics. I just completed working for Organizing for America and getting President Obama re-elected. I volunteered for MoveOn.org as the East Bay Council Coordinator.
I love to read. Currently reading a biography on Nijinsky. Favorite books to name a few would be "To Kill a Mockingbird," "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues," "Great Expectations," and for fun nothing like Sue Grafton, or Sara Paretsky.
I think what makes me unique is my sense of humor and adventurousness and equal blend of athleticism and intelligence. I am a former fitness trainer and remain very athletic. Hiking, biking or skiing are some of my favorite things to do. I love being outdoors. I also love discovering and learning new things. Reading books in which I learn something new or provoke a new way of seeing something,
The kind of man I would like to meet is someone who can keep up with me physically and thinks a three hour hike or six hour bike ride as the perfect way to spend a Saturday. An extra plus would be if you are interested in taking Ballroom Dance classes together. I prefer a physically fit, athletic, body type. I read about 3 or 4 newspapers online and would enjoy discussing those events and ramifications of those events. The last guy I dated was a scientist and explained particle theory with me and we discussed the Higgs Boson.
