I am a pretty easy-going person, and not judgmental. I like the outdoors, and lately in my life, especially the warmer weather. My main focus of study in college and university was chemistry, and I'm pretty science-minded.
I like spending time outdoors when the weather is nice, going to the theatre, museums, historical sites, camping, etc. I like playing sports, but have almost no interest in watching or talking about professional sports.
I can get into almost any type of movie except cheesy horror flicks, but I'm mostly into sci-fi, comedy, and fantasy movies. Some of my favorites are: Inception, Aliens, Blade Runner, Terminator 2, The Matrix, Children of Men, 12 Monkeys, Hot Tub Time Machine, Zoolander, Dumb and Dumber, Wedding Crashers, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc. I like all the Kevin Smith movies. However, I don't like Harry Potter movies. I watch The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report almost religiously. Other than that: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Real Time, South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, Robot Chicken, Game of Thrones, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, NOVA, Horizon, and National Geographic Specials.
I'm not really into fiction books. I like scholarly articles if I'm interested in the subject matter, textbooks, news articles, political humour, etc. I spend some time reading Wikipedia, and other educational websites.
I like a variety of music including classic rock, 80's pop, and progressive house (especially from the early 90s).
I probably spend too much time on reddit.
I like dogs too, but I think cats suit my personality better in regard to having a pet.
Lastly, we probably won't get along if you: are highly religious, base important decisions on your horoscope, are a scientologist, are "new age," don't bother voting in elections, are really messy, are politically conservative, don't like cats, are a luddite.
Thanks for looking.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Grab a coffee and go for a walk in the park, or something like that. Or, if it's too cold outside for that then maybe the AGO or a museum, or something else that can provide a distraction and topics of conversation.
