About Me
I am currently working to improve both my body and mind by spending a lot of time in the gym and on the mats, while also working towards a degree and (horror of horrors) a real grown up career. I adore life, and am comfortable in mine, but always looking to improve, and that's something I'm looking for in a partner. There is humour in pretty much everything, up to and including hanging upside down being lowered slowly into a cauldron of boiling oil.
Apparently, if Carl Jung were alive today (and giving out personality tests on the internet), he would consider me an INFJ. That means I share a personality type with Mother Theresa and Mel Gibson. Talk about balance!
I started studying at the University Of Lethbridge last january in pursuit of a degree on my way to becoming a teacher. Due to some bureaucratic silliness, I had to withdraw from the U. and am currently working until I can start feeding my learning habit again. I also play guitar and write Metal music, spend about 4-6 hours a week in the gym, nerd out on the computer, train in submission wrestling and have probably the largest house cat you're likely to see.
I have been feeling the oddest compulsion to start learning how to knit and I think I'm gonna pick that up soon.
My favourite books are Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Doyle's The White Company and Sir Nigel. Another favourite is The Gap Cycle by Stephen R. Donaldson. I also enjoy reading biographies and true crime stuff, the Bathroom Reader books (wanna trade?), the odd fantasy.
I don't watch a lot of movies, and my favourites are more nostalgic, fun stuff than real cinematic classics: Die Hard, The Matrix, Big Trouble In Little China etc. Ditto on TV, although I also do watch some new shows like Archer, New Girl, Apartment 23 and The Borgias. I'm a serious MMA nerd. I'm always up to check out whatever. John Cleese is the greatest actor of all time and Fawlty Towers the greatest show. I have also been known to watch an episode or two of Star Trek. I generally don't dress up like a Klingon and pull my phaser on people, however. Not anymore. Not since that time down at the Galt...
I'm a life long metalhead and will likely die with Motorhead or something playing in the background. I also have a deep love for folk groups like Väsen and artists like Loreena McKennitt. I can't help but tap my toes to silly disco and pop music.
