Why I called myself Girl Friday is beyond me when the last thing I want to do is work as a secretary in an office and given I just returned recently from living on a chimpanzee sanctuary! It makes no sense except that I have always heard the term used on someone who is enthusiastic and good at doing many different things. That's what I was getting at, but now it's too late. "They" don't let you change it. So on that note....
About me... well as I sit on my computer I am listening to Grateful Dead Radio on Pandora. I love Pandora. I love music. I wish I had more friends who would pay the horrific prices it costs these days to see a show. Any show. I love it all, from the symphony to Metallica. I can even listen to some country, but it has to be the classics, like Willie, the ones that remind me of being on the ranch with my parents and their friends, watching them dance and be funny after a day of searching for peacock feathers and playing with the horses.
Pandora is also good for job hunting. Crosby Stills & Nash sing to me while I wonder if I will ever get my dream job with animals. After my mother died a few years ago I quit my job in hopes of making the rest of my short existence here on earth more meaningful. I started a nonprofit organization for kids but quickly dismantled it because my true calling is with animals and nature so I have been volunteering in that area ever since. In a couple weeks I get to go back to the chimp sanctuary to help write a strategic fundraising and business plan. Nope, they're not paying me but at least are taking care of my flight and and I get to stay in a beautiful home and see all my chimpanzee buddies.
But regarding this on line dating....I totally resist it yet find myself on line trying to figure out what to say to you all. Come to find out I can't just add you to my "favorites" and hope that one of you will see I did and a date will magically happen! This requires some effort. Job hunt or man hunt (or fish, sorry). Apply for a job then write to a guy, then apply for a job, then write to a guy? Ugh! I don't want to be on this computer. Would rather be out finishing sanding and staining my deck while the weather is so nice. I just moved to a new place and have been doing a lot of improvements. Problem is, it's a rental. Someday I would like to do this with the man of my dreams in the home we build together but until then...well, I tend to move around a lot and make where I am living beautiful.
I want to meet someone who knows how to communicate (yes, that includes spelling and grammar), but more importantly, communicate well and often. Someone who values what they have and finds the positive in everything. Someone who does not settle. Someone who loves animals. Someone who thinks family and friends are important. Someone who loves to travel, see new places, go on adventures, and is spontaneous. Someone who is loyal and non-judgmental. Someone who is romantic and intimate yet with a kinky side. Someone who is in it for better or for worse, who knows getting through the tough times is worth it.
O.K. Enough. I guess I have to make contact with "someone" if this has any chance of working. Or if I have any chance of getting off this computer and enjoying the day. I hope you are enjoying it too and I wish you the best of luck in your search.
I saw this on a personal ad one time and thought it was neat so...
