About Me
I consider life to be an adventure and although I’ve explored many parts of the world on my own, I’m at the point in my life where I’m looking for someone special to share these adventures with (both extraordinary and everyday).
I love challenging myself and am always up for trying something new. I don’t believe that a partner needs to share all my interests, but I do think that one of the keys to a good relationship is supporting and taking an interest in the other person’s hobbies. I have varied interests and seem to pick up something new every few years. My mainstays are cooking/baking, swimming, playing tennis, skiing, ceramics, being outdoors (hiking, camping), and traveling. Two summers ago, I started dragon boat racing, which led to an addiction to paddling. I'm part of a competitive outrigger canoe team in the winter and a dragon boat team in the summer.
I am lucky to have found a profession I am passionate about; it’s what’s getting me through the final years of my graduate program. These days, I am busy working in the field, writing my dissertation, and doing research. Work-life balance is non-negotiable for me so I always make time for myself, my interests, and my family/friends.
In terms of my personalty, I am very independent, easy-going, caring, and tend to put other people first. I can be a perfectionist at times, particularly with my work, but being in grad school has taught be that “good enough” is sometimes the better option.
I’m looking for someone who is outgoing, active, and eager to explore new places with me. Bonus points for being kind-hearted, chivalrous (it's not dead!), determined, and romantic.
