I grew up in a small town, when I was 17 I joined the Army. I like to travel and travel as much as I can, I believe that traveling and getting out of your comfort zone is the best way to learn and grow as a person. I'm into camping and hiking, I do that at least 4 times a year and by camp I mean packing in to a campsite and packing out(camping in a campground full of RVs is NOT camping). I also hunt and fish alot, obviously everyone on a dating site gets judged first by their looks so I may not look the part but I'm a country boy at heart.
Right now my profession is a Chef at the University of Iowa. I will eventually open my own restaurant.
Professions I have had in the past are Auto Technician, Information Technology specialist, Retail management, Restaurant management, Bartender, Construction laborer, Environmental Tech and I was on a drug task force with the border patrol. I like to learn new things and am good at everything I have done. I never pass up the opportunity to learn a new skill and be the best at it.
I have a German shepherd, love Cubs baseball, Packer Football, Iowa Wrestling and Football.
Some of my hobbies include wood and metal working, competitive pistol shooting, collecting firearms, geocaching, photography, videography, video gaming, cooking, hiking, fishing, hunting, shooting guns, riding my 4wheeler, garage saling/going to auctions, wine making and volunteering. I like to share my talents by cooking for people as well as make them something or fix their stuff.
I'm a gentleman and a real Man's man. I hold the door open, like to be the big spoon and surprise you with flowers just because, but at the same time I know how to; tile your floor, replace your ball joints, tweak your computer's registry and cook a killer lobster risotto.
...oh yeah and I also work on a farm during the summer months when I'm not Chef'n it up at the university and own a wedding event business doing DJing, Photography and Catering.
I've decided to give up drinking this year so I don't really go out to bars, I may have a beer or wine at dinner but that's about it and I've only done that like 6 times this year so if you go out alot then you might find me pretty boring.
I've had quite a few bad things happen to me in the past but I've adapted and over came them. I am looking for someone to settle down with and I would like to eventually have kids.
Lastly, I appreciate a good performance of the national anthem and people who use you're and your correctly as well as bored and board.
I'm also convinced that from what gather in the lack of responses to my messages(among other things) that there's probably no one out there for me so message me if you'd like to talk about any of the stuff mentioned above, I do make a really good friend.
