I'm a simple guy, but I have diverse interests and I appreciate the finer things in life. I'm nerdy, but I'm cool (at least I like to think so).
Eating great food is important to me. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to eat and cook as much great food as possible. It's necessary for survival, so it makes sense to enjoy it. I'm definitely a "foodie," though I don't like the term. Recently I've been shifting my diet more toward the primal approach, though I'm not giving up going out to eat, enjoying red wine, or having a good craft beer.
I work full-time creating 3D animated graphics and programming touchscreen applications. I'm also a musician. Primarily I play guitar in and around NYC, but I also play bass and sing. Music has been a part of my life for a long time. I really enjoy listening to it, going to good shows, and playing.
I have a dog named Sadie whom is a 6-year-old Cavaton (a mix between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Coton de Tulear). Sounds fancy, I know, but she's just a really cute mutt. She's a sweetheart. I'm hoping that you love dogs already, but if you don't, you're going to need to learn to (if things are going to work out).
I enjoy economics, philosophy, and history. I believe in always learning, and I want to continue to learn throughout my life. When I got into my 20's I realized that what I learned in school wasn't very satisfying, and my natural curiosity led me to start reading and studying, and it has really helped me understand the world. It has shaped me as a person and continues to.
I don't have cable TV and I don't watch a lot of TV, since I do pretty much everything online at this point. Some random movies I like: Lord of the Rings, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Old School, City of God, American History X, Up, Anchorman, The Lives of Others. Some shows I like: Seinfeld, South Park, Chappelle's Show, Arrested Development, Six Feet Under, Spaced, Anthony Bourdain, The Wire.
I'm definitely a weird person. I view that as a positive thing, because I don't want to be "normal." I mean, have you seen these people? I want to be able to be "weird" with the person I'm with, whatever that means. You know, we should both feel comfortable in our own skin and be able to be completely ourselves around each other. What more could you ask for out of a relationship?
I'm looking for someone whom feels out of step with the crowd. Someone who is intelligent, but not a stiff. Someone who defines success for herself. Someone who can get her hands dirty, but look stunning for a fancy dinner. Someone who can act silly, but can seduce me. Someone who enjoys sleeping in and cooking together, but also traveling somewhere new and exploring. Someone who is curious and capable of changing her mind based on logic and evidence. Someone who appreciates art, culture, and history, but can laugh at politically incorrect jokes.
I'm looking for someone whom has integrity. I try to live my life according to the principles that I believe in. Philosophy is great, but are you willing to put it into practice in your daily life? Are you willing to stand for something and sacrifice the approval of others?
The most important principle in the world to me is the non-aggression principle. I believe that everyone is a self-owner and has the right to do anything that's peaceful, and no one has the right to initiate force against a peaceful person. That means I'm a libertarian.
If any of this struck a chord with you, or sounds intriguing, or you want to find out more, or whatever, message me. Please take the time to write something substantive.
