Hello!
I'm here to meet a mature and level headed woman who can also have fun, too! I am at the point now where I have had enough of the dating and superficial relationships, and I am looking for a partner to build a life long relationship with. I try to build on the positives, and I am optimistic about my future. I try to give the benefit of the doubt to people, but only to a certain point, then the pragmatist comes out. I like to seek out new experiences... In the last few years, I have learned to snowboard, earned my motorcycle license and even tried a yoga class. I'm adventurous and very open minded about new things - no matter what they might be.
I think I have it pretty well together. I have a cool dog, a nice house and a good job. I just need to find someone to share it with and then I will have the ideal life. I prefer adventurous, independent, open minded and intelligent women. I love being an uncle to two cool kids, and when the time is right and I have got the right relationship to do it in - I want to have kids of my own. I read the newspaper every day and keep myself up to date on what is going on around the world by seeking out balanced viewpoints from all sides of an issue and making up my own mind. An ideal weekend might include taking the morning to share the paper and some great coffee with you as we debate the issues of the day.
I try to maintain a reasonably healthy and active lifestyle, not a big fan of the couch but I also like to unwind in a mellow way with a movie, occasionally some quality TV or a game, and I don't mind just hanging out at home. I like to have fun and hang out and be social, but I rarely go to bars except for the rare times when there is a group function. I love to people watch though, and I think Whyte Ave on a weekend is the perfect time for people watching... greatest show on earth! I like to get out during the winter and snowboard as often as possible - I'm no superstar but I can get down the blue runs without too many major casualties around me. In the summer I'm out on my motorcycle as often as possible, and I also try to get my exercise in, but I am just rebuilding the habit and basically starting over with my running after a bit of a layoff, and I am hoping to be doing a Half marathon in 2013 at some point.
I have a sense of humour that is frequently sarcastic, but I never grow tired of watching Bugs Bunny... I kinda feel like my sense of humour is a lot like the two old guys in the balcony on the Muppet Show, Statler and Waldorf! I love to laugh at myself and I will promise that no bears will go unpoked, so being able to also laugh at yourself is key.
I work shift work, but not out of town; plus I volunteer for a cause I feel strongly about. My time is scheduled but predictable, and I have lots of time to spend with that elusive right person.
I'm an awesome cook if I do say so myself - I made Thanksgiving dinner at my place for the whole family this year - I really like to share time in the kitchen and the creations I make with someone special.
You should be Smart, possibly educated too - and know the difference between those two characteristics; with a good head on your shoulders and a great sense of humour and can appreciate fine sarcasm. Huge bonus points if you can ride a motorcycle. Prissy need not apply, nor the shell type that can't reach out for something new and adventurous.

Cigarettes, drugs of any kind (yes, I mean pot, too!) and Jealousy/insecurity will not work... I have a lot of platonic female friends that I am close to and that will not be changing, so you need to be secure and free of any trust issues. Also, it drives me insane when people who use abbreviations like Ur, b, and Y instead of Your, be, and why... when you are typing at a computer, not a phone! Literacy and proper spelling are important! Most importantly, if you have a duckface picture on your profile, I will mock you harshly.
