About Me
Somehow, I have the most analytical, rational mind but the most sentimental heart. I can debate the starkest points of Utilitarian ethics, but watching Bambi will make me tear up.
I'm really into simple living. The internet, a library of books, good conversation, some woods to tromp around in...that's all I need to be happy. I invest ~85% of my paycheck, to save for early retirement, when I can build a tiny house to live in, and do all the things I think society needs doing. Like starting a non-profit vegan pizza place, for example, to bring delicious vegan food to the masses. Or becoming a published science fiction author, besides just in non-professional online zines.
My friends would describe me as a massive nerd. I'm not into parties at all, but I love going to local board game meetups and book clubs. My favorite genre is science fiction; My chosen fantasy isn't a world with sword-swinging kings and orcs (totally racist, man), it's a fantasy where people actually care about the future and strive to make it a better place. I also read tons of non-fiction, and all the other stuff that doesn't really have a genre. I always want to expand my reading horizons, so if you tell me I should totally read [X], I'll totally want to.
I don't use the word "weird" as a pejorative. I divide things up as "healthy" and "unhealthy." To quote Seneca, "Let us ask what is best - not what is customary." I'm interested in people who live their own way. If you have some bizarre lifestyle or perversion, don't worry, it won't faze me. In fact, I might even think it's awesome.
So what am I looking for? Someone to go hiking with, someone to test my cooking on, someone to cuddle with, someone for long discussions about ethics and politics and the human experience. All in all, I'm just looking for a kindred soul in this ludicrous, but infinitely fascinating, world.
